This "moon sand" is killing me...need "other" cleaning ideas...

WIRE BRUSHES, toothbrush style and a large one for the open areas. Works like a charm and then you can use some of the other cleaners mentioned. AND, if you think the interior was loaded with sand, just wait till you crawl underneath and bang around a little bit. Eye protection and a dust mask...

Holes in both front fenders...what were they for?

Haha...there ya go...and if you really want the "Bubba" look, you could run a couple of sticks of all-thread in there for a place to set the chocks. ;)

Holes in both front fenders...what were they for?

Ahhhhhh....duh on my part. Maybe I can find "Diesel" emblems someplace. ;) Thanks.

Holes in both front fenders...what were they for?

I have two holes in the same place on both front fenders that I don't know what they were used for. They are between the wheel well and the doors and a little higher than the top of the wheel well. No rivnuts in them, but all of them had a rubber plug in them. I should have asked this a long...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

The Graco is an "airless" sprayer, it uses an electric pump so you're not hooked up to an air compressor. There is an adjustment on it that is essentially the same as adjusting the amount of air from a compressor...if you turn it down too low, you get streaks (not good) and if you turn it up too...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Got the back half of the '09 primed Friday and Saturday. Using rattle can Rustoleum primer and it seems to be working out really well. I don't have a lot of time to spend on it right now, but in another week, it should be ready to paint...assuming there will be another 60 degree day, no wind and...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

#1. Well, the biggest reason there are less brush marks is because you're not using a brush, you're using sponge. That said, the product Floetrol is designed to help the paint "level" out as it cures, hence the fewer or less visible the brush marks. The same thing applies to rolling, less roller...

    Exterior Latex/Acrylic House Paints

Sounds a little like UFO's to me...others have seen them but I haven't...lol. Just pullin your chain a little there. I guess my point is, it "may" happen on houses too, but you would think that in 30+ years of painting, that even if I didn't ever see it, one of my observant customers would have...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Congrats CJ. Care to share how much all of that cost? Not trying to be nosey, just may want to do some of those things in the future myself and/or others may be interested in knowing as well. Thanks

    Heater core replacement

I don't think your switch has anything to do with it blowing hot/cold intermittently. Have you checked your fluid level in the radiator lately? I had the same thing last year on my work truck, found a small hose leak that had drained the radiator down...replaced the hose, filled the radiator...

    Snorkel finished

Looks cool! I'm with the others though that asked for more info on the entire mod. Maybe a write up from beginning to end, complete with pictures all the way through? You did take pics of everything you did, right? ;)

    Silly question

I think you've made a wise choice to trailer it if you're not going to have it shipped...good luck with the recovery.

    Got the M1009 Home!

Congratulations axshon on getting her back home. Sounds like you have some fun time ahead and if it's anything like mine has been, it will be pure joy. I'd be in the poorhouse if I was getting paid by the hour on this, but it's been the most fun project I've done in years. It ain't a horse race...

    Silly question

Plane ticket $400? Fuel $200+? Motel $50-100? Food $50? Breakdown/tow/repairs $???????? The total is/could be endless...just a big fat unknown. I've had numerous vehicles shipped through different carriers. I used to use U-Ship but that is a real hit and miss anymore. I would "guess" that an...
