I apologize. I was under the impression that The 34 tm only detailed the process assuming the engine was completely removed. It does however not reccomend lifting it from underneath. I plan to pad the lowest point of my oil pan with a 2x6, then very slightly lift the motor with a bottle jack. Am...
I have read some threads about replacing engine mounts one at a time by jacking up the oil pan. Can someone give me a step by step on this process? Ive heard stories about the motor shifting backward, etc... I just want to avoid problems the first time.
The 27144 Kit at autozone doesn't come with a m16x1.5 adapter. I just ordered a 100mm long m16x1.5 bolt and nut with a couple washers. Ill post my results this weekend.
My harmonic balancer is getting bad. Time to replace. I have read the TMs, and understand the procedure. What I am worred about is the fact that no one can find a installation tool short of fabricating one. I dont have a welder. I may be able to get a shop to make it for me. What bolt exactly do...
My concern is how to apply it into my fuel system. Fill the filter? Or perhaps remove the In and out tubes on my spin on, place them in the bottle, and let er rip? Ive seen a video on you tube where sea foam fills the filter cannister, then you rev it through. I wandered if anyone here ever...
I have seen the videos of people filling up thier spin on fuel filters with sea foam, then revving it through the motor. I have a racor spin on. Can I simply just remove the in and out lines, dip them into the sea foam can, and do the same thing? Is that essentially the same? or should I just...
A can of carb cleaner and one wire brush later, I discovered that my "cracks" look exactly the same as Mohawk Daves. That being said, I am leaning toward these being flashings. Either that, or they both cracked in exactly the same manner in the exact same place, which seems improbable.
Thanks!!! You people have been so helpful. I will post some before/ after pics of my build shortly. I plan on rebuilding my gen2 today, so I will get a closer look. Results to follow. [thumbzup]
The crack is at the bolt, right behind the water pump.. I have always had a very slight leak there, nothing serious. the leak appears to be the seal, in front of the crack.
I believe that I have a crack on my engine at the bolt that attaches to the bracket under alt 2. I believe it holds the water pump and that bracket. I runs front to back. Is this repairable. Is it just a casting mark? I really think it is cracked. What should I do?
The outermost portion of the lugs on the outside of my front tires are chipping away and rounding off really quickly. I have a new pair of BFG AT 32's on my m1009. The truck has a slight pull right, nothing serious. I need advice on where to start on attacking this issue. I would really like to...
The int. TM calls for the motor to be removed in the explanation of replacing the motor mounts. I plan on some new mounts and harmonic balancer to eliminate some vibration. Is it possible to replace them( the mounts) with the engine in the vehicle? Can someone give me a 101 on the process if so?
When I replaced the seals on mine, I noticed that the metal clips that hold the weatherstrip in can drag on the glass if the tailgate itself isnt dead straight. The friction on the glass when you roll the window up also seems to push the weatherstrip seals into a position where they can contact...
I can hear a slight noise that appears to be coming from the rear fuel injector on the drivers side. It is almost as if it has trouble spraying, Like a "tsst tsst tsst" sound. When i feel the line to that injector, there is a slight tap that seems to correspond to the noise. Here are my...
I think its a weep hole, makes sense. Will I start losing atf when I pull the torque converter bolts? Ive never done this before. Thanks so much for everything. Wait till you guys see my before and after pics. With your help this truck is really going well.
I was reading about removing the bell housing on my m1009 to torque my torque converter bolts into spec. I then noticed an about 3/16" hole drilled into the bottom of my bell housing. Couldnt find anything in the tm. Is this factory? If so, what is its purpose? Also, can I remove it, pull the...
