    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

Well, I have a case for the TH400 on the way from a guy in CA, so hopefully the 09 will be back on the road sometime this upcoming week.

    Fuel Pump?

Yes, you will have to purge the air out. As to how exactly, I will be watching for an answer to that myself.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

Yep, cheap insurance. I think after this ordeal I'm going to just replace all of them. I have been going through everything since I got it a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, I hadn't gotten that far yet. Darn! :deadhorse:

I want to do this with my gauges...

The dash in mine is shot as some dope took it apart and did a hash job putting in back together. I'll probably practice on it to make sure I get everything correct. Should't be too complicated to ditch the circuit board setup and use mechanical gauges instead.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

In Spearfish. Integrity Ford had it sitting in the back lot. I guess it originally came from that slew of them that went through Goodrich.

I want to do this with my gauges...

I want to do something similar with the gauges in my M1009, only probably without so much bling.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. The needles dry up and get rusty. No looseness, just bang. I've had u-joints go bad before, but they would make a ruckus at pretty much any speed. I've never had one that only did it in certain ranges before.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

Ya, those buggers are destructive when they let go. I'm in the process of searching for a case for the tranny. If anybody has a line on one, let me know.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

Yep, and I did. I've been turning wrenches my whole life. Sometimes things happen. Everyone has had an inopportune breakdown or two at one point or another.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

Is that supposed to be helpful in some way? It's broken, done deal. Now I gotta fix it.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

I'm finding out now as I call around looking for a case that this is a very common problem.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

Yep, runs great. Drive shaft is perfect.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

I've had it for a couple of weeks. It was originally a guard truck from SD if what I was told is correct. I don't see any abnormal damage.

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

I had been looking for it too. I had a vibration that would only show up a certain RPMs. I've never had a u-joint do that before. When I checked them all, I couldn't find a loose one anywhere, so I thought maybe my torque converter bolts needed attention. One of the caps must have been locking...

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

I had the rear drive shaft u-joint at the pinion break on my way out to work yesterday. Made a heck of a bang bang bang! Since it broke at the rear I figured "no problem". Pulled it off the splines and threw it in the back. took a styrofoam coffee cup and put over the open output and duct taped...

    Gauges

I'm going to add a set of the typical oil pressure and water temp gauges. I would also like to install a couple of volt gauges. I think it would be cool to replace the dummy lights with them. Has anyone here done this?
