I see nothing wrong with your plan, paint the tank green like the truck and letter it to look like an original military tank, Then put the whole shebang in a parade !
Remember, many MVs were altered at their units to preform diffrent missions. They don't all look like they did when they rolled...
There are Two relays under the dash, But they are there for the black out light system and do not effect the starting of the truck.
The biggest areas that are prone to poor connections are the firewall connector and the amp gauge itself. There is another thread on this site that explanes this...
Chances are It is either getting burned due to a small leak in the coolant system, or the water is evaporating.......
If you don't have access to a tester as mentioned before,
I suggest you do two things :
A) Replace the radiator cap, the spring gets week in them over time and allows the...
Never seen an M880 with the blackout lights in the bumper, Do you mean the CUCV ?
On my M880, The front cat eyes are mounted to the grill just above the headlights, and the rear cat eyes are mounted just below the tail lights.
look for a warranty sticker to the right of the data plate, these are a lot of hassel to reproduce and if the truck is a clone it probably would not have one.

Welcome to the site, Let me ask you, How good of condition do you need it to be in ? a local city near me had one up for sale but it was in bad shape. It even had bullet holes in the hood and fender.....
The one By the fuse box is a Mopar part that was put on at dodge, they can also be found on some of the civilian trucks.
( I think the ones that came with a towing package, to help protect that circuit with the extra lights on the trailers)
The one by the brake release ( horn relay ) was...
As far as the gages.....
on the instrument cluster there is a silver box that plugs into the back, If it is bad or missing none of your gages will work.
( except for the ALT gage, If it has not been re wired from a PO )
I will try to post a lint to another forum that explains what I am...
Just so you know....
The clicking in the dash is usually :
1 ) parking lamp relay, This is bolted in the dash next to the fuse panel. It is easy to get to if removing the plastic glove box liner. It has three wires going to it and only effects the " running lights " ( wich include the tail...
