Look up the TM 9-2320-289-34 from the resource tab on this site.
Figure E-11 has the wiring layout for the charging system.
Do you still have it as a 12v/24volt system or has it been changed to a 12v/12v system?
Trace the negative wire back which is red with white stripe running on the side...
Love to see Diesel fuel at $3.15 a gallon again.
Where I live its now $5.19 per gallon.
I get about 12-14 mpg for my M1008 so I dont drive it more then maybe 10 miles a day now.
God I would love to see $3.15 again or cheaper.
With so many people making items for after market use you would think someone would come up with an idea to make some kind of after market upgrade kits like a dash board adaptor, new wiring for lights and even a new seatbelt adaptor for use.
Too bad that their is not some kind of after market...
Man, that is one very nice truck. Sometimes I do miss riding in the back of them but again I dont miss it that much.
Hated the bounce everytime you hit a bump and landing back down on the wooden seats, OUCHHHH!!!!!
And yet, we can have the civilian (UGLY) models on the road for daily use driving.
Just doesn't make sence to destroy a good mv in which people like us would enjoy to own and drive.
I have always wondered how come we never see M998s for auctions on GL.
Is their a reason for that?
You can always see the military driving them in convoys on the highways but then you see the civilian models on the highway also.
What reason doesnt GL sell M998 vehicles.
Why is it that most if not all of the M1008/M1009 series seems to have rust always located on the hood.
Is it because the hood is thinner metal or is it due to engine heat.
Its a nice looking M1008 in the picture above.
My hood seems to have the rust problem also.
I want to paint my M1008 back to the Marine Corps woodland camo pattern when ever I get the body work finished.
What is the CARC color code for the Green, Black and Brown that the Marine Corps uses?
Also, I saw a link here but can not find it now on how the pattern design is supposed to be for...
I thought that truck looked familiar. Thats the same truck and trailer I was looking at.
Tried to make an offer with him but he would'nt budge.
Thats when I started looking on line and found govliquidation.com hoping I can one day find something on one of the many Islands of Hawaii.
I have...
You may need to get a new instrument cluster circuit board.
The wiring board you have on right now is made for warning lights and not for gauges.
You can order a new circuit board from www.lcm.com or www.classisparts.com
They run about $73-$79 for the circuit board with gauges.
I would check out...
The wiring diagram is also located in the resource tools here. I dont have the TM # right now, but you can find it for your vehicle.
The wiring diagram will be near the back of the TM

Wanted to say thanks to the SS members here for the great advice they have given me from my transmission to the fuel system.
