I know the return lines are a problem but are the water pump and starter a common failure? Also what about the voltage regulator and control board relays? Those will take at least a week to get incase of a failure. Guyfang is there normal problems with these becids the return lines?

There is a huge wealth of info on that generator on this site and many people willing to help you. It may only take 5min a day for a few days and your unit could be up and running. Simple voltage checks behind the control pannel can tell you alot.

Its best to crack the fuel line at the injector, at the top of the head. Doing it this way keeps the hard line full of fuel. If your getting a good amount of pressurized fuel at the injector and its still not fireing its most likely the injector. Also make sure you have enough fuel in the tank.

If this traveling generator repair man dosnt have much military gen repair experience i would pass on him. These are quite complex machines and knowing how to read an electrical diagram is a must. I would mess with it your self first, at least this way you will know your way around the machine...
