    DUVAC internal pictures?

I remember a friend telling me that he spoke to someone who swore it worked as advertised when he had a heavy 24V load, which most hobbyists would not be able to replicate. I have no confirmation of this behavior, but it was what I heard second hand.

    LeRoi Mack M123

But a HEMTT is a) not over-width, b) not running tires probably from the 60s, c) not built in the 50s, and d) has a top speed of more than about 43mph... It would be a LONG trip from PA to FL...

    Autocar 8x6 tractor model?

I know what you mean. They are kind of M911-esque with the sheer size and the drop axle, but I like the hood and cab lines better. More traditional tractor. I was not able to go look at the two when they came up years ago, so I don't know anything about the engine nor transmission/transfer...

    Autocar 8x6 tractor model?

Does anyone know the model and/or use for these Autocar tractors? Crismon doesn't seem to mention them. The first pic is of two that sold out of APG years ago on GL, and the second is a pic I found somewhere online.

    M936A1 from auction

Yup, that is definitely a newer style tach.

    Jumping a 24 volt with a 12 volt

One closest to the radiator appears to be supplying the 12V for you.

Mep 803 and general question about generators

You won't harm it by running at lower loads, but it causes problems mentioned above. This is from the TM: NOTE The generator set can be operated continuously at any load from no load up to andincluding rated load; However, at light loads (less than 25% of set rating) and oily residue(unburned...

    starting a 5 ton

Sounds like (from his 2 posts) it is a 6CTA? His posts do not appear to have been edited. While I can't possibly add to some of the helpful information provided in some other posts , I'll ask the same as post #7: Which valves (locations)?

    CUCV Rockwell anti-tank Ads

And, from those pics, no black-out lighting, slave receptacle, nor rear lifting shackles. The camo pattern is clearly non-issue, and is like a strange combination of MERDC and early NATO. Given that my M1009 was manufactured in Jan, 1983 and is wearing true MERDC-scheme camo, with all of the...

Interesting that this truck has cab "clearance" lights on it...

    Air Brake Scare

I'm glad no one was hurt. That could have been bad. Is the spring brake override on the dash pushed in?

    M246/M819 rear outrigger baseplates

OK, thanks! That sounds like a useful feature.

    M246/M819 rear outrigger baseplates

Thanks, Ron! Could you snap a pic, when you have a moment, of the retainer plate, nut & handle as they are used to hold them down?

    M246/M819 rear outrigger baseplates

Unfortunately, you don't appear to stock the M819/M246 versions. :(
  15. CUCVFAN

    1008 stock replacement front springs

Exactly. That data plate shows "axle" rating, not necessarily vehicle load rating nor spring capacity. The tires are the limiting factor in the rear, unless it is a dually, yet the plate still says 7500, rather than the 6084 total of the tires. Regardless of actual spring capacity, I believe...

    M246/M819 rear outrigger baseplates

Thanks, Ron. Given the difference in dimensions, I assume the M543 plates will not mount on the front deck of an M819 like the stock ones do? When you have a minute, could you measure the inside of the center rectangle where the boom jacks and outriggers insert (length, width and depth)...

    M246/M819 rear outrigger baseplates

Comparative pics would be awesome, thanks!

    M246/M819 rear outrigger baseplates

I know the M246/M819 base plate has a different NSN than the standard wrecker boom jack base plate. I'm not sure what, if any differences there are between them?
  19. CUCVFAN

    1008 stock replacement front springs

That is the front axle's weight rating. The D60F is rated at 4500# in these trucks, so it can handle way more weight than the springs.

    M246/M819 rear outrigger baseplates

Thanks, I would appreciate it. I guess I am mainly looking for the details of the center section where it pins to outrigger. If I can't find any, then I'd like to have something welded up close to the original design.
