    MK48 cabs in CA

If there was a location to store them- near the base at Barstow, I could probably spend a day moving everyones cab there, and then we could take our time looking into moving them east (or where ever). 100dollarman- do you know of a safe place we could put these cabs? I'm thinking your place is...

    refurbishing batteries

I gave up screwing around with bad 6TL batteries. Big waste of time for me.

New Battery setup, and now ABS light?

First and easiest would be to check the two inline fuses- under the dash near the steering column. But since it was working and now seems to be screwed up- it's probably your ECU. Also, you can burn up the ECU by doing an improper shutdown- so be sure you follow the TM EXACTLY for the...

M931A2 from Nellis to Phoenix, need help?

Glad to hear the truck ran good and you made it home. Can't predict those tire issues- I hope you checked the pressure on the fronts- they can look full and fool you. Normally they are the last thing to fail, but only if the pressure is kept up. Most of those trucks at Nellis are from Utah...

    Need Seat Covers

I've used Jatonkas covers and they are great. Here's an idea- I took some seats to a local shop that does canvas and had them do some custom work- widened and used better foam on the bottom and made the back a little taller. Then covered with good heavy duty canvas. Turned out super nice. Cost...

    MK48 cabs in CA

I'll be picking one up myself and bringing back to Ogden, UT. I could probably take a bigger gooseneck trailer and bring an extra one or two- so let me know if you need one going this direction.

    M816 multifuel and 53" tires

Hang in there my friend! There are also a lot of us here that are of a more tolerant mindset and would find your progress interesting- even if not our own idea of a project. I just picked up an 817 and find it very capable for the task it was designed for. And welcome to the site.

    She Ain't Pretty

No matter what I've tried, including real expensive reconditioners- I can never get the batteries to come back- once they've lost their charge. But the recycle/scrap yard sure pays good money for the old ones! Much better than the core credit at Walmart...

    R.I.P--SHOOTINIRON--James Ruman

Follow up 9/11/2012 You might find this interesting. I travel from north Utah to Nevada several times each year. The mangled remains of this A3 were parked in a wrecker yard, right off I-15. In plain sight. I stopped by several times to see how much it would take to buy the truck. You know...

    Wrecker welding tanks/bottles

Here's the oxygen tank that came on my 936. Marked US Govt. (Can I ever get it filled?) And a top view- looks like the missing tank is a larger diameter.

    Color of convoy lights

Back on the day- I would always add a blue light in the tail lamp. Might have to try that in an MV...

    M939 and M915A1 PTO info

I read here on SS that there was a USMC version of the 915A1--- that had a 7 speed Allison. Nope. After searching around, I think it was an M916. Oh well...
