    Phoenix, Arizona Surplus store

I was hoping Jerry would bring it up at the AMVCC meeting. I have a prior commitment in the morning but will be at the new store location. See you there.

    Phoenix, Arizona Surplus store

One of our South West Pinzgauer Association members had to move his surplus store. We are going to have a BBQ out front of his new location to let the people in the new neighborhood know he is there. We are going to be displaying our trucks. I am hoping that a few of the Steel Soldiers people...

What to check on a Pinz?

The steering box and arms are pretty tough. Recently rebuilt mine to stop leak. I found the shaft going to the pitman are was bent so bad I had to cut it to get it out. A couple of the dealers have used steering boxes for sale and with a couple of inexpensive seals would be fine. If you have...

What to check on a Pinz?

It actually looks pretty good in the pics. I don't think it will take too much work to get it going again. Might be a nice time to consider a custom bed/camper.

    South West Pinzgauer Association Treffen

What a great time. The pics taken by a photographer are available for viewing on his site www.photosbylex.com We had a good turnout of 23 Pinzgauers, most stayed at the camp grounds with us but some of the Tucson boys went home each night to stay in their own beds. No major breakdowns and...

What to check on a Pinz?

Very glad to hear the pinz did its jopb and protected the operator again. I think I would just by another and keep it for spare parts. The reason I have a 710 is for the parts. I do drive the 710 daily and have not needed any of the major parts for my 712. I also use the 710 to prototype add...

went out for a weekend of fun

I started with 1" sq tubing attached to the same location as the soft top and use three 3/4" sq tubing bows for each section. The corners are reinforced with 16ga metal and covered with 040 aluminum. There is 3/4" insulation and the inside is 030 aluminum. I bent the bows to match the...

What to check on a Pinz?

I hope that Chuck is OK, seems most of the injuries are soft tissue and not noticed until the next day. I have heard of several of these higher speed rollovers and in all cases the drivers and front passengers walked away. The worst injuries have been busted ribs from the seat belts. Would...

What to check on a Pinz?

Well, where to start. I have heard many complaints about the cost of maintenance of the Pinz. I use one of my two Pinzgauers at least once a day and have driven the 712 (6x6) over 60K miles in three years. I don' think I have spent over $2K in maintenance, repair and upgrades on it. I have...

The big brother to the Pinzgauers and a truck most of us Pinz owners would love to have. Can't wait to see what you do with the truck.

    Unimog 404 brake issue

One of our members is having issues with the brakes on his newly aquired 404. He has changed the front brake lines and bled the system but still can barely get the truck to stop. He says it takes a long time and a lot of pressure. Is there anything I need to know before I head over to take a...

    Rebuild my 1962 M37

RE: Re: RE: Rebuild my 1962 M37 He has most all the parts for the truck. The last time I was there he did not have any good wheel cylinders left. The dealers should have them and if not there is a guy on Ebay who always seems to have them.

BEFORE and AFTER pics - post

While I use my 712M Pinzgauer mainly for off road activities I still clean it up once in a while for parades and shows. All the mods are just add ons with no modifications to the original truck. We have all had experiences reworking someone elses better ideas, so I have been very careful not...

    Rebuild my 1962 M37

Keith One of the best things about the old iron is that it is slow and gives all a chance to get a good look. I have never been a fan of repowering or regearing. Way to much fun to drive around town nice and slow. If you decide to rebuild the axles, Kaman in Phoenix has the Timken bearings...

    M37 front canvas support

From those numbers it definately looks like my support tube has been hit. I thought from the kinks at the bends that it must have hit a low branch or something. I will see if I can get it back to close to these numbers and fix the kinks. Thanks
