Tip: Stick with the civilian repo oil pumps, when going to a show or selling, switch to military pump. The military ones are almost impossible to find now. That way for dailyish driver you use civi, so no real issue if it fails.
Got my engine running, then i discovered my radiator took a bashing while in storage.. Two leaks and not holding water well, big bumber. Also found couple oil leaks and burned my hand on the hot oil, hope got those fixed. Got all my fording system together and attached, except the line that run...
Congrats again bravo. Wade i have an 65 m38a1. Got the engine turned over and running on its own fuel system today. Got half my floor panels and dash painted, and only have one little side patch left on the body.Woohoo, patch, paint, merge, drive.
Congrats wade and bravo, both look great. Today i got mine to turn over and run on starter fluid, later in day i found out the comp who rebuilt my fuel pump put the top portion on 360 wrong. It was blowing air into gas tank, instead of sucking it, fixed that. Hope to have it running on fuel...
Personaly, mine doesn't have the braces. Its just the bolts to the body and bolts to the front grill. Mine is the 64, so the grill is mounted by the center bolts as well.
LoL, i am kind of just staying even on my parts list. Every time i fix something, something else breaks or needs more attention. Close but far. Congrats on yours. Been wondering for a while who is going to finish first, your or me, looks like you :).
No, i'm not. Its just irritating and an added expense. Fortuitously they not bad on expensive to replace. Also once the cylinders are bored, i may have needed a new piston size anyways.
I tore my engine down and took it to machine shop. Getting piston cylinders bored, and crank ground. Washed all my engine parts, put them on shelf. I then backed into shelf and knocked all my pistons onto ground, every head needs replacing now :(. Tomorrow i repair my steering wheel.
THx. Ya, i can see the light. Unfortunately, that's the killer part too lol. See light, but still got a few boulders to crawl over. Really only have the engine left, and that rq machinist, so not something i can do when have time or just want to push. Keep catching my self day dreaming about...
Up date. All chassis done, new NOS Marine core vented Master cylinder, steering refurbished, horn, rebuild my whole wire harness, new shocks. tore engine down. Found out number 2 piston ring froze and scared crank. Pulled crank and piston rod from spare engine, one in pic. Need new seals, rings...
LoL perfect photo op there. Big wide open blue sky with puffy skys on a vast open plain. Don't forget the sunset that is starting to throw the shadowing on as well. LOL better frame one of those. Great to hear that it's now home.
Amazing how a good paint (even primer) hides all the damage and repairs. Looks bran spanken new where you primered, minus the od color. Did a a perfect job sanding it. I'm a bit jealous you have a garage to work in as well :).
Thx, it was a lot of work. Tomorrow i start on tearing down and rebuilding the engine. Nice having a harness that bends and doesn't crackle, snap, and pop, and no torn connectors :)
Got my transmission and transfer painted and installed, i have almost mostly rebuilt my whole wire harness. Got half my clutch done, waiting for other parts, go figure, parts were going to use are too warn.
