    Brake light switch question 1123

The standard brake lights draw some real power when you step on them and the switch arcs internally wearing the contacts down to the point where you have to adjust the switch position to get them to work. Because the original design is marginal and there's no free play travel adjustment on the...

Horrible general question.. Truck cutting off.

You didn't state whether you had a keyed ignition switch or the standard one but if it's a keyed switch there's a fair chance it's a chinese cheapie and they are prone to fail at any time. Go with a good American made switch like a Grote or Cole-Hersey for piece of mind. Something else to...

    HMMWV - Brake question

Worst case you can always remove the hand brake lever and soak it in PB Blaster or Kroil until it frees up.

    M998 flasher problem

I don't know what your mechanical aptitude is but these are simple, flat steel covers and you already have the templates for them even if they're rusty . If they're not pitted then why not just sand them and throw a coat of Rustoleum paint onto them? New covers are $40 plus shipping and...

M37 Engine Swap with M151 Engine

There used to be a company called Clifford Engineering that built and raced 6 cylinder engines that could probably give you the performance you want from your original T245 Dodge engine. You might give them a call: https://cliffordperformance.net/

    What is this?

The two brackets are the attachment points for the radio shelf feet and the cut off cable is (was) the power feed to the radio. The other end is in the battery box and could be attached to either the batteries directly or to the power buss bar. As Mullaney said, they could be live unless they...

    HMMWV Fuel Lift Pump

From the drawing you can see that the upper two bolts (1) hold the fuel pump in place and the lower two (11) attach the plate to the block. I got the Carter rod pn# by cross referencing the AMG pn# 14050425 on the internet. It crosses to the Carter SP4 with .449 x 5.29" dimensions. Also...

    HMMWV Fuel Lift Pump

A word of advice when you do this job, remove the right splash panel and have a long extension with either a 3/8 swivel socket or a universal with a 3/8 socket to put things back together. This allows you to tighten everything up reaching in over the frame rather than busting your knuckles on...

    Glow Plug Removal

Your best option is to remove the injector and fish out the end of the glow plug and pray that it wasn't in cylinder 6 or 8!

M998 Instrument cluster and Lights not working

Part of the circuitry in the PCB is a reverse polarity sensor designed to prevent bad things from happening if you install the batteries backwards. The instrument cluster diagrams are in the back of the TM 9 2329-280-20-3 manual. Choose any of them since the gauge cluster wiring is basically...

Engine, Transmission and Power Steering Cooler Fin Damage?

I have a couple of the tools blutow pictured that I believe I got at Harbor Freight that I've used for years.

Timing chain and gears, Commercial equivalent?

Thank you guys. I was using my 151 to move my 101 trailer around when I heard a bang and it started smoking and running very rough. I thought it might have been due to a timing chain slippage but now I see that probably didn't happen. This evening I pulled the valve cover and everything there...

M151A2 60 AMP Generator voltage issue

Usually this is an indication of the voltage regulator failing. There is a small hex plug on the side of the alternator that gives you access to an adjusting pot for the voltage. The adjustment is backwards from what you expect, turning the pot clockwise decreases the voltage. They're available...

Timing chain and gears, Commercial equivalent?

Does anyone know if there is a commercial crossover for the timing chain and geras in the 151?

    Just figured I'd play along.......

Installed a tire pressure monitor system but.....

You can accomplish the same thing with a 10% overpressure and not risk a high speed blowout that could cost you your life.

Installed a tire pressure monitor system but.....

Your pressure monitor is measuring psi, not percent and why are you trying to put so much pressure in your tires anyway? I normally only run mine at 45 psi and an unloaded M998 usually only runs 25 psi per tire.

PRC 77, AM-2060 mount and accessories.

What you have there is the AB-15 base and the 3 mast sections that go with it. They would be correct for use on the M-37 along with the MP-50 base bracket. They're more commonly found on Jeeps but would still be correct. You might need a small spacer between it and the bed so that the flex...

    M1123 Gauge Cluster question

27 wires are gauge feeds that are polarity sensative and 40 wires are for gauge illumination. 58 is labeled as a compass light circuit, whatever that is. The letters are just designating individual wires, the numbers indicate they're all from a common point.
