    M1123 Gauge Cluster question

The wiring diagrams are in the back of the TM 9-2320-280-3 manuals. There are several there but the gauge cluster is pretty much the same for all of them. Open the TM, hit your "end" key and then "page up" to the one you want. Try to find one with clear wire numbers.

PRC 77, AM-2060 mount and accessories.

Ken, I believe that Steve Haney down in Godley, Tx has the AB243s for sale. He's a good source for radio parts. Fair Radio in Lima, Ohio also has them.

PRC 77, AM-2060 mount and accessories.

The VRC-160 mounts on the left rear troop seat near the front and is not a difficult installation. You should have some levelling brackets that attach to the seat so that the radio site level. I used an AB-243 antenna mount with an AB-15 and MS-116, 117, and 118 mast sections but you can opt...

Starter Clicks But Does Not Start

:) A more routine test would be to have a remote starter button set-up connected to the battery 24 Volts and the solenoid control terminal located on the fiber glass insulator lead. This would BY PASS all the ignition switch and control box action. These test should get you in going in the...

saving military communications gear at hamfests

Unfortunately we hear stories like this all the time. The military used so much communications equipment it was almost impossible even for someone knowledgeable in comm gear to know all of it and even though they paid ridiculous money for it when it comes to the end of the line it's move it or...

saving military communications gear at hamfests

This past Thursday thru Saturday was the Military Radio Collectors Group revival at Camp San Louis Obispo here is California. Covid paused the meet for a few years but we seem to be back on track for them to continue again next year. This meet is normally held in May but just getting it going...

Starter Clicks But Does Not Start

Clicking starters can be due to several reasons. First you want to make sure both batteries are fully charged. Second, get rid of your Chinese starter switch if you have one installed and install a US made one. Third, make sure that when you turn the switch to RUN that you're getting 24v on the...

    HMMWV Headlight Issue

If you ordered incandescent headlights the #91 ground contact is in the center with the #18 low beam on one side and the #17 high beam on the other. The headlight bucket should be marker accordingly. Now if you ordered LED headlights the #91 ground will be off to one side and the #17 and #18...

    Funny failure mode

There's another air choke point in the air intake box that can be opened up to improve air flow. If you remove the intake cap and mounting you'll find a piece called a shield assembly (#5 on the drawing) that looks like a sugar scoop going down into the airbox mounted on the firewall. The...

Pressuring fuel tank to prime fuel system

When I replaced my fuel filter and water seperater I used a small vacuun pump on the fuel petcock to prime it all by drawing fuel up from the tank. The process is straight forward and simple and doesn't require anything to be disconnected.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

A basic Helicoil kit on Ebay only runs about $15. I'm sure welding and retapping would cost more than that and with the Helicoil there's no worries about heat frying seals.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Rebuilt my A0 wiper motor today. The brushes had worn down and because they were making poor contact with the commutator they caused the input filter coil to burn out. Cleaned the entire unit with spray brake parts cleaner and re-lubed everything with lithium grease. I replaced the coil with...

Where to purchase new HMMWV PCB EESS box plugs

Eriks has the engine connector here: https://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/coforhmprcob.html These are all Amphenol connectors that should have an MS series part number. They're a PITA to look up in the -34P but by taking the NSN and searching it it will eventually get you where you need to...

And with a simple jumper between pins S and T you can start your truck if your control box has gone tits up.

    HMMWV Thermostats

Since Mr. Gasket is a part of the Holley family of products I wasn't too worried about getting Chinese junk. https://www.holley.com/products/cooling/thermostats/parts/4367

    HMMWV Thermostats

With the heat wave we've been having recently it's hard to tell. Back when I did this I believe that the time between fan cycles did increase slightly but maybe that was only wishful thinking on my part. What I wanted was the 180 degree thermostat like Mogman said but I was also looking for as...

    Headlight Issue

If you look you'll find the headlight buckets are numbered on the backside where the passthroughs are and then there are the connections to the headlight proper on the inside. It isn't uncommon for the wiring to get switched between inside and out. Make sure your harness wires numbers are...

Fuel Leak Near Engine on M998

Repost from 2017: I just did this job on a friends HMMWV and there's no good way to push the fuel pump actuator pin back up into the block without removing the mounting plate. The gaskets are readily available and fit 1955 thru 1995 GM engines and only cost a few bucks so bite the bullet and...

    CX-10613/G cable needed

I could be wrong but I believe that the M series cable from the 25 amp generator to the regulator uses that same connector. It was refered to as a Bendix connector. Try this...
