Yep. Never thought of that, but I'd bet that is what happened. I was concerned about the rear main seal after that fiasco, but I drove it another 550 miles and the oil level stayed normal. Also, I didn't notice any diesel smell on the stick after the trip, so I don't think I was "making oil"...

Bump start, push start, whatever. Militarysteel, you answered your own question. Pop the clutch n go. A very useful feature for a disabled starting system, if you are on a hill or have another vehicle for giving you a rolling start.

Does the Allison in the A3 allow for bump starting? Most automatics don't, but is there a way on the Allison? Something I've wondered about.

Pctrans is correct. I have stated the same thing here. An exception would be an M818 with an M105 for a combined still less than 26000. Would this be correct?

Besides, if you have weepy front axle seals like I do, the knuckles are probably plenty lubed.
