Yep, the trailer once had a tank on it. All of those trailers were bring backs from Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and were going pretty cheap. The ship to/POE sticker on the trailer says, 595th Trans Group, Ash Shuaibah, Kuwait. I needed a trailer for my 500gal fuel pod, so I grabbed one. I think I...
I like the color better than 383 green. In person, it is a very "rich" green. It looks almost like WWII sherman tank green. Pictures hardly do it justice. Kinda makes 383 look faded or weathered.
O.k., its been a while CARNAC so here goes:

Mission Accomplished. James made it home, and I went over to check his truck out. Its truly the best looking deuce I've ever seen, and he should be proud. Thanks for the pizza James. 8-)
Gotta be careful with that though. Never trust a fart. Although, those with vinyl seat cushions can be more bold.
Keeping it MIL vehicle related: Does anyone know if there is a MIL version of Scotchguard?
Just talked to James. He is at a motel near Savannah GA, resting for the final leg of his journey. Everything is working well with his truck (not leaking oil or air, and shifting fine), so he should be good to go for tommorrow. I'm in Jax right now, so I'll probably visit him tommorrow if he...
Yep, seems that way, don't it?. As a former yankee, I moved south to get away from the northern nanny state BS. Little did I realize, the subdivisions down here are filled with northern transplants. What is funny is the biggest neighborhood complainers or troublemakers, from my own experience...
I agree, but on our interstate system, a good deuce speed of 45mph can be downright dangerous or illegal. Secondary roads often have you zig zagging all over the map, adding a lot of mileage on a trip.
Interesting, I never thought of that but it makes sense. I did mention to James that I would want to open up the inspection plate on the bell housing, possibly while having someone work the clutch while looking in there. How much can you see in there?
You guys need to buy some Gillespie or CARC paint and arrive in Tactical Corollas.......
......with the sticky throttle pedal, barrier penetration upgrade all the new Toyotas seem to be coming with.
Yeah, but thinking like that would get me into trouble. As Mainahs we used a steel coal shovel, not the plastic junk. Out of habit, I'd end up grabbing that shovel to clean snow off mum's SUV. :cookoo:
I had the pleasure of talking with Jay about this whole unfortunate situation tonight. Again, Jay and Rob are the ones who really stepped up to turn this bad situation around for the good. Enough thanks can not really be said about such altruism. I talked to James as well, and he is in good...
No vehicle I've ever had shifted as bad as my old SAAB 900, with a bad cable clutch, worn pressure plate and cracked trans mount. I understand what Dieselbob is sayin, for me the sticks belong in the BIG trucks and Jeeps. Autos for everything else.
I95S all of the way to JAX Fl I guess. Jay and James are not answering their phones so I assume they are burning the midnight oil trying to get that deuce sorted out. Heck of a time for a blizzard eh?
Just talked to James a half hour ago. He just got to his truck, and he said Jay was about 10 minutes away. They will need to clean off the snow buildup on the deuce so they can work on it.
Synchromeshed? I don't think there are syncros in the Eaton-Fuller or Meritors. Big rigs use straight cut gears for all of the gears, and use evenly spaced ratios across the board. This gives them the predictable "feel" needed for clutchless shifts, as mentioned in the above post. For the...
