The city codes here are VERY large vehicle unfriendly. That said, there are several code enforcement officers for the different zones in the city, so it depends. Ours tends to use her discretion against you, whether or not you are actually violating code. According to the city code, I can't...
I dunno, I just use the filter on the right. There are a couple of ways I deal with the larger hole. Just make sure that the filter is centered when reinstalling/tighteneing the can. Also, I got a snug fitting large diameter rubber washer to go on the bottom of the filter, so that the spring...
We towed our M1061A1 without trailer brakes with a CTD Dodge RAM 3500 Dually. Even with a 573lb transfer case strapped to the top, and going 65-70mph, I never felt the need for more brakes. I've towed a lot of heavy stuff that requires brakes with this truck, but I didn't have any probs with...
Change filters, and fill up the can with fresh diesel. Reinstall the can and tighten it good, being careful to preserve the gaskets (can and little bolt o-ring). Use the small lever on the floor to change to the other tank, since the dash tank switch just switches the guage to read one tank or...
Not to be harsh, but does anyone ever read? As I said before, look up the statutes.
Maine Revised Statutes Title 29A, Chapter 11, Section 1252
A Class C license authorizes:
(6) A person to operate a truck registered as an antique automobile, regardless of weight or combination weight...
It depends on your state. In Florida, with no trailer and a registration GVWR under 26000lb, you don't need a CDL. In Maine, antique tags exempt you from the weight limits on a Class C license (recreational use only, no business), so no need for a CDL. You have to look up your state statutes. Of...
Sweet! Did you make that tractor? I want to create something similiar, converting a standard M35A2 cargo to a tractor and I have a M818 fifth wheel plate lined up from pctrans. I just need to figure out how to mount that fifth wheel on the frame of the deuce.
No kidding. Those of us if Fl know how much soft sand saps power. If you have little horsepower, then high RPMs, low gearing, and a snails pace are the order of the day.
Some reading for ya:

You might want to email James (flyusn99) flyusn99@hotmail.com for more info. He's very busy this week though so it may be a while for a response.
Heh, beat by Jay.
I can't leave here quick enough. Northern transplants, soccer moms, and cops here WILL use the city ordinances against you. For us it was just a matter of time. Daytona is a nice place to visit though.
Congrats on the successful trip. There is a very scenic drive on Old Dixie highway to...
use of classifieds
I would like to see a separate section or page for all WTB items. It is a good idea for steel soldiers to be able to seek items they need thru the classifieds but it would be better and less frustrating for those of us searching for stuff to buy if we didnt have to sort thru...
I am recovering one M1061A1 from Ft Jackson right now, and I'm headed to see Clinto tommorrow. I didn't care much for them at first, but now I see they are neat little buggers. My 5.9L Cummins RAM 3500 dually pulls it with ease, although when loaded I will prob use the M818 for better braking.
