Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

Well, after freeing up the sticking fuel control rod and cleaning up the solenoid, she start and runs. I've let her warm up several times now with no signs of any leaks, internal or external. The motor actually sounds amazingly good and starts so much better than my good truck. I'm not sure if...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

I assume that is on the lower filter hsg...no air cleaner assy on at the time. The 2x was directly against the upper adapter where the filter would seat. I rechecked all the connections and they are good and tight so I'm not sure where it got its air, but it did. The problem did turn out to be...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

After stewing on it all night and reading up on the boards I'm going to look at the IP tonight. Several have posted about the fuel control rod behind the shutoff getting gummed up/seized. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?78640-stuck-in-full-throttle-multi

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

Well, on with the learning experience, which is really the main reason I bought this truck. So, as the previous posts state, I have just finished replacing the head gaskets and going through the heads. As far as I can tell every part of this has been done following the tm to a T. Beings I have...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

She's ALIVE...and mad as HE double hockey sticks...and all I can say is WOW. I've never first hand experienced a run-a-way diesel until now. First things first, I think I need to thank God, my ol'man and this forum!!! Thru reading the boards I figured it might not be a bad idea to leave the air...

How do you prefer your deuce?

That's awesome USAFF!!! In never gave that program a thought as a use for a MV...I'll have to give a good friend a call who heads that program up around here! Back to the topic...the misses topless is great, the truck not so much. My votes for top on, no rubber or bows on the bed, just the...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

Hopefully for what the machine shop swindled me out of they are good. They said they mangafluxed them and found nothing and went over them with a fine tooth comb and all they found was valves need ground and slight warp right at the back of the rear head. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed...

    Legal issues on parts.

Good learning experience. I thought to myself to play stupid when I answered their e-mail, then thought why, it's just a big chunk of metal. No reason to be dishonest...guess the standard answer should/now will be parts for my truck.

    Legal issues on parts.

. I was going to try it again but I would hate to have my acct shut down as that's what they threatened to do if I was out of compliance again..use it too much. I assumed it was due to the fact the seller is a surplus dealer so they flagged the transaction to " get more information" on the...

    Legal issues on parts.

Sorry if this isn't the place for this. I recently tried ride to purchase a m23 mount assy (from a reputable surplus dlr) for my display ma duece and had some major issues. The problem was with PayPal. They temporarily suspended the transaction claiming it may violate OFAC regulations and...

Stumbled upon a wrecker boom/winch set-up Fort Madison IA

if it turned out to be something you wanted I go thru st.louis 2-3 times a year but it I'm always pulling a 36ft trailer so it makes it hard to get too far from the beaten path. Like I said, if anyone wants it I'll give you his # or can stop for you and inquire. I have room to store it for a few...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Very inexperienced to these trucks but not to engines in general. With that said, if it won't hit on ether, you either are not getting air/either into the engine(possible mouse nest in the intake) or you don't have the compression to light it. I haven't ever looked at the internal components...
