    Just bought my first deuce

Have fun!!! Just be careful, I was warned about the degenerative disease caused by the green iron contained in these trucks. Of course I knew better and thought I could beat it....wrong...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

Here's the damage. Still scratching my head on this one. The gasket appears to be good around the coolant ports but I had about a quart of coolant in the intake when I pulled it. It appeared to be isolated to #5 & 6cyls. No antifreeze in the cyls so I assume it migrated its way past the rings...

    Deuce fuel line hose

I couldn't find the correct ends at any of our local hose shops...have to order them...be a couple of weeks...you know the drill. Being in the marine business, I looked at our hose. Same OD, same ID ,rated for gas or diesel, and it's made in the USA. Here is my marine style A1 reinforced hose...

    Plastic Fuel line help

Lol!!! Wonder what rocket scientist put this one together. No inner support, misaligned ferrule and crunched the hose...how in Gods name has it not been leaking all this time. Good thread and I thought I should add pics of How NOY to do it. Lol

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

100% the head gasket, you can hear it cranking and you can feel the hd gasket dislodged behind #6 cyl. I probably should have went ahead and let it have fuel just to see if it would smoke but my hand just couldn't push in the fuel stop... work to commence after duck wacking on Saturday.

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

Yea, ia tractor, if we was asking what you paid for yours it was WAY to much! I'm fairly happy, he threw on all the parts he had, new style head gaskets, a few sets of lights, cargo cover, gun mounts and a few ore odds and ends. Now to see how much it's going to take to make it run... Hope to...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

It's home, safe and sound... I think! Things i learned, towbars are nice but there is something about 395's, this truck and being towed. It would not track straight for anything, it took one in the driver seat to hold course and make it turn the corners. It really seemed like the tires may...

Stumbled upon a wrecker boom/winch set-up Fort Madison IA

I figured I would try and stop to get a price just incase anyone was interested for parts. I can't imagine he wants much but you know how that goes!

Stumbled upon a wrecker boom/winch set-up Fort Madison IA

Like the title says, I happened upon a, looks complete, wrecker boom setup. I believe it is off a m-936 and it appears to still be attached to a partial frame section. The tags are very dirty from sitting around not being used, so I couldn't get much info, but if interested I can take a camera...

    Storage / Parking

I've always said I can't stand stupid ppl... Seems like I have to deal with them more and more everyday! One m35 and trailer in the driveway and it will have company soon!

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

That is what I may have to do if I can't come up with the correct on in the next week or so. The bushing is no problem but the mill job might be more than my equipment will do. But on the other hand it would be nice to have both feet sizes in one....

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

lol...thought I had found something... These were listed as fitting the medium towbar but must not be. What are these made to fit? Guess I'm back to needing one more foot to complete my 1in set.

INGENUITY! 450 Gallon Canoes (YES, this is an AVIATION THREAD)

I got an e-mail a few weeks back with those pics and I said the same thing..... I want one!!!

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

Did a poor job describing what I got as that's where they are coming from and currently he doesn't have the 1in/1in feet. What he had are described and pictured as "old style medium tow bar ends" they have a 1in bar end, on the other end they have both the 3/4in hole and a 1in hole. Will these...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

I know its been awhile with no updates but hopefully I'll have pics in two weeks. Title has been released and should be here soon... Got shipping confirmation on the feet for the tow bar, the recovery duece is fueled and ready along with an escort/tail vehicle. Anybody use the older tow bar...

Adding a replica M2 to an Deuce

Were the ones they made in the field typically a center of the bed mount or did they get made into the side rails? Center of the bed is the direction I'm leaning as then it's easily removable if nec and won't interfere with the troop seats/covers ect.

Adding a replica M2 to an Deuce

I just recently acquired a replica m2 and would like to set it up on my truck. From my searching here, it looks like the only correct way to do this is with a m66? gun ring mount. Did they ever use any other setup on these trucks? The reason I'm asking is I am finding all sorts of other mounts...

    Econotig or tigmate?

I have never tried dc on aluminum, may have to try as that's probably 2/3 of what I weld but the splatter gun works great for skegs and most of the stuff we do as it gets finished anyway.

    Econotig or tigmate?

Mine is the 165i but It does everything I have ever needed it for... Wish I would have bought a 208v machine but don't really need the ability to do aluminum very often as I have a spool gun for the mig and just use it. The few times I had to have pretty alum welds I just took it home. Are you...
