    Deuce Parts Quick Reference Spreadsheet

LOKI85, I believe the TM says to check it within the first minute after shutdown to get an accurate reading. I think this is due the design of the factory filter setup draining down causing readings to go up after sitting. I know mine reads on the stick after sitting but I always check as per...

    Deuce Parts Quick Reference Spreadsheet

Here are a few more seal PN's that will work for a m35a2 winch. They may not be exact military replacements but so far they are working good. If that changes I will update. These seals were ordered by the shaft and bore measurements of the pieces they seal. Drum seal (passengers side) Original...

    wheel studs

That is why we didn't in the end...also I like to do things correctly, ie the correct torque wrench. Maybe I don't understand things, and the two pop method is safe, as that is what most of my searches turned up for doing it "correctly". But for discussion sake, which would be worse, an...

    wheel studs

Funny you say that. I recently had a conversation about doing that very thing. I finally got a torque wrench that will go either way, but was close swapping them out.

LSSV: 2005 Chevy Crew Cab, Fl to VA and back.

I am appalled at some of the comments about wives being kept in the dark... I would never do anything like that. Mike Just in case she ever decides to check this site....

    R.I.P.--DJFREEMA--Devin Freeman

Will send prayers from Iowa for him and the family he left behind. Even though I didn't know him, this hits close to home. I'm 38 myself, and just lost a high school friend to cancer yesterday. I know in my heart, God has a plan for us all now matter how hard it is. Mike

    Should I?

I was told "if it's got T.ts or tires sooner or later it's going to give you trouble" by a wise old man...was he ever right!

    Odd electrical issue??

^^^^What they said. I've seen it many times, it only takes one strand left inside a wire to provide the voltage but it will not carry any current. A quick and easy way to be sure is take a good headlight and hook it up. If it will not light you have a supply problem. Most new test lights and...

    M35a3 fuel problems

No expert on the cat but I hear that comment almost daily on marine engines I work on... She revs good in neutral so it's getting fuel. If only that was the case. It takes very little fuel(volume or pressure) to spool the engine up with no load, but as soon as you ask it for power she will fall...

    Bringing the m35a2 home

Legally, probably not. Possible, probably. Smart...I can't answer that, I'm sure I have done things I shouldn't have and probably wouldn't have listened either. Reread your post...KY has some funny laws when it comes to the DOT...be careful.

    GL recovery. Your experiences plz

o2jmpr, You may be able to pick-up a nice deuce locally here in Iowa that the owner can give you the background if you can't find what you want on GL. There is one guy in particular, that isn't far from you, and is a wealth of info and does sell parts/trucks. I know a few of the SS members here...

    If you had to choose....

I'll second that! I had looked for about 6-8 months via the net and paper truck shoppers. Thought I had one bought about 150 miles away and the owner wissed backwards at the last minute...3 weeks later I found one parked less than 10 miles from my house and was for sale. I had driven by the...

What's the weight and length of M35a2 w/ winch and M105 trailer

All weights approx. from various sources. Truck 13,000-13,500# M105 2750# MF engine in cube 3050# (seems light but found that # 2 places) Tranny , tires and fuel tank ? So you know you will be 20k or more. I would probably err on the heavy side and say21-22k.

    Something concerning in the TM

Good suggestion!!! I can say without question, I will not make that mistake again. As easy as it is to do, I might just make it a spring ritual even on the one I know!

    Something concerning in the TM

Lol!!! Run away and take cover seems appropriate too me, as Uncle Sam was the owner, not me. I think your question really depends on the situation. If your unable to shut down with the fuel cutoff and the engines @ idle, no problem, grab a cool beverage and start trying different things until...

Question about steering wheels on the M35?

6'4 here and about 225. It is tight but not nearly as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. Most of our trips haven't been really long, but for the most part, my clutch leg gives out before anything. For what it's worth, I don't know how you would steer the beast with a smaller wheel unless...

Driving with a blown cyl head gasket?

Just thought I would put the mechanical oil pressure gauge on her last night to check the accuracy of the in-dash gauge as it was only running 30psi cold and 20 warm...WOW...is it that hard to get the correct oil pressure sender? I'm two for two, that is two deuces, two incorrect senders. My...
