Reasons to NOT get a M916?

I've been drooling over the 916's and 920's. After reading this though I think I want a 915, seems alot more practical. There was a thread with pics of on on a set of 395's on hemmt wheels I think that looked real good. Anyone wanna trade a 915 for an 818

I had a truck w/ an aux. tank, but I believe the sending unit was shot when it ran last, don't have any of the other parts.

    NAPA....where have they gone?

I used to love NAPA, until they said they may not warranty my balljoints anymore. Lifetime warranty on them, and they wear pretty fast (common problem w/ my model truck). The mgr at the store I go to said they are cracking down on their warranties.

    Wis DOT v. ex-military vehicles - AB-592

I have to add that I as well, am disgusted. 404 is a pile of crap (no offense to anyone), but it's just too restrictive. Sure complete unrestricted use is probably a little too much to achieve, but it is what we should shoot for to try and get something acceptable. Ask for too much, and make...

    Wis DOT v. ex-military vehicles - AB-592

I just wanted to say I wish I could help more with this issue. Unfortunately it's tax season, and I have no life until after April. Please make sure you let us know when there is a time to send a message to our representatives.

    Wis DOT v. ex-military vehicles - AB-592

Don't forget the dells army ducks also. I'm just down the road from the dells. The thing I think both of those organizations have going from them is that they operate within the city and township. And like in Baraboo, you can drive small electric golf carts in the city, but there are certain...

    Wis DOT v. ex-military vehicles - AB-592

I believe it was Jeff speaking on this. I like that the language was discussed. I think it needs to be written to state something more along the lines of "Military style or configuration" or something of that sort. The bobber guys can always go find the paperwork I've seen posted on the...

    Wis DOT v. ex-military vehicles - AB-592

Thanks for the explanation. It was a bit confusing and I didn't want to throw my support behind a bill that left the 5 ton group out of the picture. Thankfully I can still register in MI, but I'd like to see a good solution worked out here. This also brings up a point I didn't see mentioned...

    Wis DOT v. ex-military vehicles - AB-592

I watched the video also. One thing that struck me is when Paul was addressing the room. It seemed as though trucks over 5 tons were being left out of the mix. I don't remember exactly what was said as I listened last night. Would like to know what the rational is behind that if I heard...

    Stalwart swan dive

I've always thought the stalwarts were the better of all the amphibious trucks. You would think the one in the video would have to be diesel. It's hard for me to imagine that the gas engine wouldn't stall with that impact. Unless it's fuel injected, but I'm doubting that.

Need cab heat for drive home

When I got my m818 I had to drive it 250 miles in January w/ no heater. I dressed warm, and I used a propane heater. Helped alot, my right side was warm (strapped to the passenger seat, and my left side was ok. You will need alot of propane. I think I went through 4 bottles on my trip...

    Vertical Welding Question

I'm no expert, but I like to start at the bottom and go up, as the weld puddle will tend to flow down from gravity. That way the puddle isn't moving over where you haven't welded yet.
