    What goes here?

    My OCD is showing! :-)

    What goes here?

This is the relief valve Phil sent me. Screwed in fine with no thread work needed. It's tight, but there is enough room for the valve to pop open completely.

    What goes here?

This should give an idea of how everything fits together: Not sure how the grease gets from the zerk back toward the diff.

Good of you to get all the facts before jumping to the wrong conclusion.

Brake Fluid Leak Around Master Cylinder Cap????

I had the same problem and sealing the threads of the m/c cap will not help. You need to put a thin washer under the cap. I think I used a thin copper washer from a hardware store. My leak was coming from where the bottom edge of the metal cap meets the m/c, just above the threads. Hope that...

Sometimes you do what you got to do

I never thought about that (we have no deep rivers in AZ), but would like to know.

    M1008 with Behr Paint Question

The CARC definitely needs to be clean- free of dust and grease. I sanded my deuce down with 220 grit to remove the oxidized paint and to smooth the texture of the CARC so I could apply a semi-gloss finish. The paint needs to be kept in the temperature range specified on the can for at least...

    What goes here?

Thanks Tom- Phil is sending me a grease vent which should fit. Nothing was there when I got the truck so it's been a mystery until now. Not being a mechanic, I had no idea such a thing existed.

Parking M923 in Glendale, AZ Residential Neighborhood

I believe the "complainant" was anonymous and thus his/her identity was not known to Mark.

    Back from the paint shop

Looks very good- great job! What does the red color signify?

    White Hercules multifuel ...need advice

Mine was seeping through the gasket. Took it off, cleaned everything up, cut my own gasket for a sheet of gasket material and put it back together. Very easy to do and no more seepage- from there anyway. :-)

    What goes here?

I would be okay with that except that the grease shield around that open end was coated with about 1/2" of grease. The end of the propeller shaft was nearly empty of grease, although it was next to the grease zerk. The splines were, however coated with plenty of grease. If both sections of the...

Parking M923 in Glendale, AZ Residential Neighborhood

Sad to hear but I hope you got top dollar- if the EPA is truly banning further sales of MV's to civilians, I would expect prices of existing trucks to skyrocket soon. Can you say $25,000 for a bare bones M35? It might happen.

    What goes here?

No, not the same breather. Check out the link earlier in the thread for a pic.

    What goes here?

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I just sent a PM to Phil.

Might have found a deuce, things about it/to chk out

There are many threads here that deal with buying a deuce- I would read through them first. The price seems reasonable- hard to tell with no pics. Make sure it has a clear title if it is required in your state. I think he's saying it has 6 super single tires like the A3 has. Just like any other...

    What goes here?

Yes Bob, I agree it certainly is interesting- I have quite a knack for stumbling onto "interesting" things. Unfortunately I usually end up scratching my head and wandering off not having a clue what I just found. :-)

    Distracted driving

In 2010 I retired as a police detective after 30 years service. For many years I drove an unmarked car and observed crimes in progress and LOTS of bad driving. I saw many drivers texting while driving and almost all of them held their phones down low where it was difficult to see from outside...

Newbie looking for some head gasket advise/wisdom

I haven't done it myself but the other members will tell you to read through the procedure in the TM's and search through the numerous threads on the site. Some of them are devoted just to tips and tricks. I'm going to have to do mine soon but I'm going to wait for cooler weather. Good luck!

    What goes here?

Does that valve allow grease to escape or just air? Do you think an auto parts store would carry them? If it doesn't allow grease to escape, I agree with Rusty that it would be bad to install.
