    M37 door seal question

I went out to the old junker I have and took some photos. I can see that the fact that the rubber on the door goes all the way under the door really does not seal against anything. Photos:

    Just purchased my 2nd MV...M38A1

Depending on the out of round and taper of the cylinders you might get away with what they call a refresh. If you find much of a ridge in the cylinders I doubt you can just do a refresh.

    xm211 vs winter weather

Once while riding with a buddy in his M35 we had to drive around a muddy hill. On the slope it was a challenge to keep the truck in a straight line around the hill. We had to attack the hill at an angle to counter the slipping down the slope. He used to drive the trucks while in the Army.

    hydroboost brakes?

At a show I actually helped unload an M37 that had a Hydrovac unit installed. The drum brakes were very nice. I looked at the unit but have no idea what kind it was. It was not large. I think it was tapped into the intake somehow. I would think you might want to add a small air vac...

    Military mules dot com?

Last year I found a guy selling a couple of mule parts that lived up near where Dave lives. So I asked if he knew him and he did. He said that he was just doing other things dropped the mule business. Kinda sad if all that stuff gets gone.

    First MUTT

Welcome. It sounds almost like the Y cut method of demill. Making these M151's so no one should be able to use them was up to the local units that had them at the time they were sold out. We need pictures! :-D

    G838 site

The site in the last two weeks has had a bunch of problems with robot postings flooding the threads. So Rick has the registration on hold right now. He is working with a network guy to get help. Alan

    New guy with M135

Welcome! Us M211/M135 guys are a tight group. We can sniff the wind and detect G749 parts! Then there is Plowboy. :-) Parts are there if you search for them. Here are some transmission links I have saved: http://www.fatsco.net/products.html http://www.autotran.us/...

What gear oil does everyone like for the 3 speed and transfer?

First read this document - 'Somewhere around 25 years ago a deactivated or buffered sulfur was developed that would react with the phosphorous to create the protective/sacrificial layer in the conditions created in the gear boxes (temperature and pressure) without being corrosive to the...

Metal Magnets's M211 teardown and future rebuild.

Is there a way to figure out what vehicles might have come with that engine?

Metal Magnets's M211 teardown and future rebuild.

It's not bad looking. I see it has the muffler but no side stack flex pipe. Buggers. I would like to see how they did that transmission setup. A 302 with a five speed... hummmm.

    G749 Airpak power piston conversion

I don't see that big a difference either.

    The unofficial g749 picture thread

Hi Baloo, What kind of fuel tank is mounted on your truck?

    G749 Airpak power piston conversion

True the housing gets replaced. And I have no idea on that list what the difference is if you are 5 or 10 metals away from Aluminum. I would go for it if it makes it easier to have made.

    G749 Airpak power piston conversion

I did a little searching around. Do we know what kind of Aluminum the housing is cast out of? What I found: if stainless steel and aluminum are in contact and moisture is present, the aluminum will sacrifice (corrode). Brake fluid can suspend moisture. Maybe that's why they were...

How many old fuel tanks will be examined now.

    G749 Airpak power piston conversion

I'm in! I have three trucks so would spring for 5 sets to fix the trucks and have spares.

Relationship between vacuum wipers and fuel pump

If yours is connected correctly the vacuum pump is always sucking on the lines that go to the wipers. So the input so to speak is actually from the wipers. The air goes into the air vacuum pump and out to the intake port. (Army 2 1/2 ton trucks used air pressure from the brake system, Their...
