I ran a separate power feed through a circuit breaker for mine. Figured if something went wrong I hopefully wouldn't loose all the lights or electrical system. Although mine is on a deuce I would think it would be easy enough to hook up something similar on yours. Just a thought.
Great score on the early Christmas present. As mentioned before I think I would leave it green. Many active duty trucks are not all the same color. Kits and updates are added after the last repaint. 2cents
Very nice looking deuce. Glad to hear your trip went good. As DEUCE-COUPE mentioned it might have had a depot rebuild in which case they consider it being the model year it was rebuilt.
That should be the correct part. If you are going to order it online might I suggest ordering it from Eriks. Price is less and I have had very good service from Eriks.

Thats a pretty neat idea. I kind of like the instant heat idea also. I had thought about this model off and on for the last couple years but just never followed through.

Winters have been fairly mild the last two years...
How long did you let the pump run after closing the drains on the filters ? After checking the line DH mentioned above I would take a shot that the primary filter is pretty clogged. They are the hardest to service so usually serviced the least.
I think I'll go with the black silicone that Eric's has. Kind of hoped I wouldn't be tearing back into the knuckles so soon but what the heck. At least I know what I'm getting into this time.
Well I have just over 2 years and maybe 1000~1500 miles and have a very small split starting in the drivers side boot :-(. Looks like time to try the silicone boots. aua
From TM 9-2320-361-20, "Aline holes in axle flange (3), gasket (4), and hub (5), and install with eight new lockwashers (2) and screws (1). Tighten 60-80 lb-ft (81-108 NŽm)."
Also if you haven't checked it yet I would make sure that the governor shaft #4 is free moving with Spring #17 removed. All the adjustments in the world won't help if this shaft doesn't move freely.
Just to clarify, do you mean that just opening the main breaker causes the engine to speed up even if there is no other load being powered at the time ?
I have always put some grease in the hub cavity on any vehicle that has grease packed bearings including the deuce. I don't fill the cavity but put a good coating in there just to capture any wear debris and if gear lube or water starts to enter the space it won't wash out the bearings quite as...
If you are doing the oil filters and still have the stock setup you can pull the plug circled in the image and that will make sure the filters are empty before you loosen the cans. Saves a lot of mess.
