    Blue CCKW-352

The US Army Air Forces vehicles were all OD green. The US Air Force became a separate branch of our armed forces in August, 1947. The color wasn't changed to blue until the early 1950s. My guess, then, is that you're probably on the right track with the lend-lease idea.

    Period Photo

I know that the Army and the Marine Corps both used the mule, but I didn't think they "shared" them in the literal sense. Take a look at the markings on the one that this Jar Head is driving.

    My "new" M185A3

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't tell either. I've looked at the pics several times and don't see any two-chamber master cylinder. I don't know what the air packs look like or where they should be, so I can't tell by that. Enlighten us, please??

    new truck to me

Yes. The outer edge of the circle is the same diameter as the tips of the star points, so the circle is "broken" so as not to "muddy the image" of the star.

    new truck to me

Looks like a good time is about to be had by all. One suggestion...get rid of the invasion stars on the doors. The D-Day invasion was over long before the M37 hit the drawing boards.

    The Ramcharger Project

Well, the M880 was a Dodge pickup, so maybe you could call it an "XM881," the "X" part meaning "experimental." :)

    The Ramcharger Project

A milspec Ramcharger, huh? What would that be, now? Perhaps a M879 1/2?? ;)

    Military Ambulance in Holland

The door numbers won't help, but if you can find any bumper markings or USAF "license plates," I can translate them for you.

New truck, Time to hide from the wife...

You can hide it at my house if you want! (Then, I can use it to help move my stuff from IL to GA or SC when we move this fall. ;) )

    HICKORY NC meeting

 I knew that! Why in the heck did I say "deuce?" DUH! I seem to be having these "brain farts" more often since I turned 65. Could it be age related? Anyway, an Air America 5 ton would be unique at any gathering. :)

    HICKORY NC meeting

I like the white deuce. All it needs to be complete is the Air America logo on the doors! :)

    Truck/Tractor Show PICS

RE: looks like a good time Love that old Fairbanks-Morse diesel! What does it idle at? Something like about 15 rpm?

    My AirForce Ambulance Bus.

Nice ambus!!! I've seen lots of those. I was stationed at Scott AFB, IL (Medevac HQ) twice.

    1967 M35A2 w/winch

They put it in the classifieds for you. Funny thing...I didn't know there was a classified section until Gimpyrobb said something about it. Then, I went looking for it and found it. Nice truck, good price. Too bad I have no need for it or room to put it!

    Our first parade

RE: appropriate post for 4th pics??? I live in Illinois. We have lots of maple trees, but not the right kind for making syrup. We use corn for that. ;)

    Our first parade

RE: appropriate post for 4th pics??? Very nice, Beaubeau! Only one problem...your flags were on the wrong sides of the vehicle. The American flag always goes on the right side! No biggie, now, but you may want to mount them correctly next time. ;)

Supacat MK2A in Sierra Madre 4th of July Parade

Glad you had a great time. :) That's a nice toy you got there. I'd probably never be able to drive one, though. Judging by the slope of the hull and my being 6' 10" tall, my long legs would never fit. (I discovered last year that, after wanting an M38 for nearly 50 years, I can't drive one...

    Leak at Fuel Pump

RE: Fuel Pump Model Number? Maybe you need to visit "that other forum," www.g741.org, and post your questions there. It's dedicated to the M37 and all its variants, and the folks are extremely knowledgeable about the beast.
