    Snow Plow for M925

After e-mailing S.S. member "autoshopteacher", who provided invaluable advice on a snow plow for the 5 ton, it became "necessary" to start this project for the 925 (aren't they all "necessary"...?). Picked this plow up at an auction I won this week (11 foot, 2000Lb's, lots of rust....waiting...

    Led Taillight

Sounds like a ground issue. The only other possibility would be voltage (12V light vs. 24V). This assumes the prior wiring was good. I redid the entire back of my truck....and a bad ground caused an issue on my center LED lights.

Great experience buying rim and tire

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've had a lot of great experiences with S.S. member vendors ( Recovery4x4, 3dAngus, vintageiron, lancerobson, chief919) and the quality of product purchased. I recently was looking for a spare tire and rim for the M817 (Michelin 16R20...

Going to live in my deuce in Oklahoma....

The harder and smarter you work, the luckier you get. Have you asked for more responsibility at work (which can lead to higher pay) ? Work a 2nd job? I did that for a year and made ends meet when my primary income was falling short (delivered pizza's....made about $250 cash a week 20...

My sincere gratitude to Ma Duce and all those who made this happen. Illinois General Assembly - Full Text of Public Act 097-0811 After spending thousands to register and plate the M817 at GVW .......for a vehicle I drive twice a month at best.....I can only ask: Where and when can we meet...

Call Steel Soldier "TheWeatherman's" Deuce into this......have him do drive by's every 15 minutes on Sunday mornings, honking his installed Nathan train horn...and let your neighbor know this will continue until they come to their senses. If not, plant 100 Pink Flamingo ornaments in your front...

LEO/FD HMMWV Check List & Part Numbers

My neighbor in Wisconsin is a volunteer fireman and graciously offered my family and I a tour of their facility.....and there they were: a Humvee and 715. These guys come in every Tuesday night to work on their vehicles. Though I'm a "weekend resident" up in Wisconsin.......I offered my...

Yep.....sent in for title and plates for a 1967 Chevy II hot rod to "research" in Madison in early March.......just got the title.....still waiting for plates. Steel Soldier "TheWeatherMan" spotted

Went out to our local "cruise night" to meet Steel Soldier member TheWeatherman and his ride.......and happened to notice his truck was short of a very important decal. After honking his TRAIN HORN......and explaining to a few friends I ran into that it was me who scared the crap out of most...

    Air dryer

I painted a bumper and mounting frame using these: http://www.amazon.com/Arrow-Pneumatic-PneuMasterAir-Disposable-Desiccant/dp/B003BJN0UO/ref=pd_sim_auto_1 I used two, though for a bigger job I would think you would need an in-line dryer as you would need A LOT of desicant in the humid midwest.

    Super Single tire "bulges"

Thanks for the help gents. I lowered the air pressure in the tires and "hammered down" yesterday doing 16 gravel runs at 10 Tons per run. The looks and thumbs up at the gravel pit from the other haulers was for the truck, though I also thought they pitied me in an a non-air conditioned truck...

    Super Single tire "bulges"

I agree.....max load at 110Psi Cold. The tires are rated for almost 15,000 Lb's each....so i might have 6-7,000 lb's on them with 10,000Lb's in the bed. Any practical experience with these while hauling? I'm going to let some air out for the thought of a "surprise" while putting the tarp on...

    Super Single tire "bulges"

Thank you gentlemen. They were evenly spaced off the tire lugs (could notice when looking from an angle). If this is normal, good to go. The cold tire pressure is on the side of the tire...110 PSI for the the 16R20's.

    Super Single tire "bulges"

I put my truck to work today getting gravel and noticed after a couple runs the tires were showing slight ridges/buldges. The cold pressure was 110 Psi (recommended), though 128 Psi at the end of the day. I don't think I broke 35mph, and kept the loads between 10,000 and 11,000 Lbs. The...

M923 Dump Conversion with 8" dual stacks

Awesome job!!! "If it ain't broke, add to the cool factor".....my kind of truck! When I did the tail lights on my 817, I had the bed up while working on the wiring behind.....and absolutely thought of a line letting go....and getting squished. I had the safety stands up, but laying down ...

    5 Ton Batteries

O'reilly has 6TL's for about $180 each with core (I think it's $10 more without core). There are 3 stores in your area. I bought 4 of them with no problems for my 925.
