    My XM211 Fuel Tank

Yesterday I worked on the tank some more. I had put 3 gallons of lacquer thinner in the tank and sealed it up, sloshed it around and let it sit for 24 hours. I got more rusty looking crud out and since the tank was turned up on the end where the filler cap is I can see a whole pile of crud in...

    M37 Delivery Date

Do you have a truck that is close to that time and serial number? Alan

    M37 Delivery Date

My M37 before I got it had it's data plate taken that has the serial number and date of delivery. So I took the serial number from the frame and looked it up on the production dates list. It is a Feb 1953. Is there a way to estimate the delivery date for my truck? Serial number -...

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

I have it off now and that is one heavy tank with the pump still in it and all that crud. I now see some rust on the outside that makes me wonder how thin it has become. I know folks have added an external 24 volt fuel pump that works well. If I can get an internal original fuel pump that...

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

I still have some lye left I might put in there with warm / hot water. Have to be careful with that stuff. Wear gloves, long sleeves and eye protection. I did a smaller tank like that years ago. Not a big monster tank like this. Oh and I do plan on taking the pump assembly out as I am sure...

    My XM211 Fuel Tank

This latest long weekend I decided to work on the XM211 a bit. So I started killing the rust on the passenger battery ledge. While my solution was doing its job I decided to drain the fuel tank. The previous owner said it was totally full of real gas. Yeah right. So I used a shaker siphon...

    My GMC, a little update

Here are the photos of the two kits I have. The one on the left with the yellow plastic is the G749 and the one on the right is a newer 5 ton kit. The two push-rod seals are different but the diameters look the same to me.

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

I have heard that someone else is interested story so many times. It gets lame after awhile. Alan

    My GMC, a little update

Humm....now you have me thinking. When I get home today I will dig out the G749 NOS kit I have and compare it to the 5 ton kit I have. Alan

    Parts M211

The hood has some rust along the lower rear sides. The rib looks good but at the end of the rib near the windshield there is a hole punched through the metal that went from the inside of the engine compartment. It's like the hood was closed on something, not sure. The baby bottle looks like...

    Parts M211

I met the guy hauling and we got on the road by 7am. We made great time and shortly after 8am we were at the truck. The owner had his tractor there ready to go. So we pushed her up on the dove tail trailer bound her down and headed back up the road. By 10am we where back at my place...

    My GMC, a little update

That sounds like he really knows what's going on with these. Do you think he might ever offer a kit with the updated parts? Alan

    Parts M211

Okay the seller and I came to an agreement and I found some transport I can afford. I got the friend rate from a guy I know down the road. I take off at 6:30 am to pick it up. We will take some pictures and I will post them when we get back. Wish me luck.

    My GMC, a little update

Awhile back I gave Nathan a call and he was helpful and we e-mailed back and forth but then he stopped and I lost contact. Since then I found an NOS kit after I had bought a 5 ton kit. I was going to take pictures of both to compare but been doing other things. Gunfreak if you could...

    Parts M211

Called a guy who could haul it and waiting for a call back. Seller says scrap is more than 1.5k. I know everything is scarce on these trucks.

    Parts M211

I found an M211 about 1.5 hours from my place. Really rough, engine frozen, missing components for the engine. Lots of rust but could be worse. The owner is playing the scrap value card. I really don't have a way to haul it and would have to hire it done. Not sure how much that would be...

    New Member with M211

I have thought about using to window frame rubbers like that. How well does the two pieces stick together? I was going to explore glue for rubber someday.
