    1952 M135 W/Winch

They are Suntune models, I got them back in the 80's. I took a quick look online and can find inductive timing lights but not tach/dwell meters. (Maybe a used one could be found?) But I did find and attachment for a Fluke electrical meter to allow it to measure dwell - Fluke RPM80...

I have an inductive tach/dwell meter. I connect the power to one of the batteries and the sensor to the plug wire adapter I have. My timing light works the same way.

Don't change the fluids before you finish your detective work because you will compare the colors of the oils. To decide if it's from the engine or transmission. I am hoping that your truck just needs a rear crank oil seal. You can replace that by dropping the oil pan and following...

What if you collected the oil and compared it to what's in the engine vs what's in the transmission? I was thinking if smearing some on something white like a card or paper plate. Then do the same with samples from the engine dipstick and the transmission dipstick. It might give you a clue...

How much oil is leaking? Is it small or does it make a puddle? All these old trucks leak. Oil from that area could be from the rear engine seal or from the torus.

    The unofficial g749 picture thread

With the US number on it it looks kinda like the Camo scheme that came in the early 1970's MERDC. I suppose it might be possible a truck might hang around in the National Guard long enough to get that Camo scheme. It looks like a not so good brush job though. :3dAngus:

These trucks were not around in the US Army long enough to start receiving the Camo schemes that came in the early 1970's and then the 1980's. (Canada, Maybe - I just don't know.) But it's up to you for what you want. My current project is a Dodge M37 and those did not normally get Camo...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

Not sure if one psi would cause that. Maybe if the valve spring was weak? I went and bought some brake line that fit the carb inlet, cut it off and ran a rubber fuel line with a filter to my gas can to test my rebuild. I just left the original line hanging there but disconnected the power to...

Up to you if you would start a new one but it would give you a clean start to asking questions. You will drive the truck like in the instructions. Choose F1 high range for on road and F1 low range for off road. Start out in gear 1 with the added shifter and shift up as you need to as you go...

    1952 M135 W/Winch

On my truck for testing I ran a line from a small gas can to the carb. There should not be much pressure from a gravity feed situation. That way you might could test the theory the pressure was forcing open the valve.

Are you running the stock fuel pump or an aftermarket? Maybe you have too much fuel pressure? Maybe need a pressure regulator?

Okay I dragged out the old kit I have. You can see from the photos that you remove the original side piece on the transmission and replace it with the Reb Shifter version. The kit comes with metal labels that you are supposed to place on the dashboard. After reading the instructions I don't...

Yes what Firefox is talking about is opening the little plug on the back of the airpack when the pressure is off and squirting some air tool lube oil in there to help keep the position moving. It looks like from that extra shifter arm someone added an aftermarket Rebshifter on that truck that...

There are definitely a smaller group of nut jobs - I mean guys  that are addicted to the M211's and M135's. It's like seeing a poor kitty on the side of the road that just needs a home. They just need a little love and care. And it's neat that both Canada and The States used the same...
