I don't get much distance with my medium size cambell soup can, but it makes quite a clunk when launched. It stays in place when windy too. I took the label off and painted it black.
I have looked at installing a flapper too, but so far I have decided that I don't want to modify the exterior...
I should be up front and say that I am working on the same basic configuration and expect to have a prototype by Aberdeen.
A couple things stick out to me. First the filter selected while it has a anti-drainback valve it is only rated for 16 microns. The original is rated for 25 microns...
Welcome to SS :)
There have been some good threads recently on picking up a M105 with vehicles other then deuces. Just look at my pick up vehicle in this link and you will stop worrying so much. The only incompatible pintle problem I have ever had was when I tried to use a civilian 12000lbs...
If these type posts did not matter and are no secret why don't they ever start with "I am bidding on this item, but you guys really should take a look at what I found."
Unless you have access to a lathe or mill this is not a DIY project from what I have seen. Nothing hard about it with the right tools though.
This is all the How-to you need though.

- No "Hey look at this cherry M35A2 on GL with only 25 miles and only one person bidding on it with 15 minutes to go" posts.
This was posted for the conversations forum, but I was under the impression it was for the other forums too.
Oh man I totally forgot about this. Looks like it went for $5150. Wow that is even more then I thought. Unless the guys at the motor depot bothered to degrease a used motor, repaint it, and then retape all the installation parts boxes to the motor it is probably NOS. I don't know if paying...
RE: Fillin
My M1009 has that gap too. At first I thought is look awkward, but now I just chalk it up as a military vehicle quirk. Looks like an easy fix. If anyone caries it LMC will carry it, but I have not found it in the few minutes I looked.

Perhaps you should have registered it in another state first then. Any chance of getting a SF-97 from GL. If that is where you got it anyways. They say they will only go back so far, but I hear of people getting help with older purchases on occasion.
Every-time I am in Texas I am amazed to see people towing vehicles with rope. Perhaps this would really make your trip an "adventure". We of course would need pics of each time you rear end yourself.
Seriously hit Uhaul, Agri, Northern tool, Pepboys Auto, etc. I have seen towbars at all...
I was temped to do this, but as of right now I have some side trips that would not work out with this. I did check out the website though, and I noticed there is no information on routes and expected arrival times.
I was wondering if anyone is going to attend Aberdeen from Texas, or if anyone is visiting the Virginia area? I have some items I am thinking of purchasing that I would need transportation for.
Aren't there some websites that you can post a load to have delivered, and people private and...
You know if you are selling coolant filter setups you have a sale from me. That is nasty. What does your setup look like? I want to filter just about everything on my truck, and this would be a good step.
I usually just put my drivers on the steering wheel too, but I figure it might be nice to have a place anyways for when I am in and out of the vehicle. I tried the mini bungee for the passenger, and it works well. It really makes a difference on keeping the wires tangle free. I will have to...
