    Flame heater removal progress check

If the arrow is actually pointing toward the turbo then it would be squirting ether toward the back of the intake tube. This would probably end up feeding the rear cylinders more ether then the front ones. I doubt it really matters that much though.

    Ether Start Kit on Ebay

I was not talking about hosing the intake down. Just a small squirt from about two feet away from the intake. I figure most would miss the intake anyways. Due to extra time in the intake it should also have more time to mix with the intake air to help make it more even between the cylinders...

    Ether Start Kit on Ebay

red devils dude that link is perfect. I want to replace all my hoses anyways, so making a longer one will be no problem. While I am glad that I bought this kit I really don't think I needed at all at least for the infrequent usage I will have. The thing is I could just as easily open my...

houdel I was wondering about why your ether cylinder was all banged up on the top. Yours must be considerably higher then what the directions call for as my bottle has lots of clearance from the hood support. m38inmaine I interpreted the arrow to mean perpendicular to the engine. Up the...

Spring or box seat-which has more room?

Yup both bulky and heavy. I will take a look at it in the morning to see if it worth it. Finding a box might be interesting. There is always Aberdeen if you are going.

Spring or box seat-which has more room?

m38inmaine I have an extra box seat sitting around if you need it.

Spring or box seat-which has more room?

I think the front crank adjusts the spring tension. I had to crank it way down to get more height. It pops up to the top when your weight is off of it though. On the ride home I thought it was kind of cramped too. I think I just adapted to it though. I am your height, but 40lbs heavier.

    Ether Start Kit on Ebay

houdel I am trying to figure out where to move one of my heater hoses as my ether kit has the thermostat going where one of my heater hoses is right now. I can see your hoses going down past the intake, but I can't see where you have it hooked up. Do you have pic you could post. On my truck...

    Flame heater removal progress check

Well it turns out there was a mixup on the solenoid. QuickStart is sending the correct one. In the picture above you can see how the ether bottle/solenoid sits on the firewall. The pics angle makes it look much closer then it is, but I would mount it maybe 1/2" higher. There is enough room...

    Flame heater removal progress check

Well I defiantly got the wrong connector and tags on my solenoid. Both wires are labeled "588". You can see the difference between what cranetruck pics show and my solenoid. I see that that is a Quickstart solenoid kit too. Do you think it matter which side is the positive or negative? I am...

    Flame heater removal progress check

Great I get to rewrite my reply as the system lost it.... Ok I got my ether kit mounted. The template works ok, but due to other things mounted on the firewall it does not really lay flat. Even worse is that the reference point they use is the center of the steering column. To make it worse...

    Flame heater removal progress check

Yup it sure does help to have people working on the same project. Instead of unbolting the intake elbow I ended up loosening the valve cover to atmosphere tube that drops down past the turbo, and pushing it to the side. Either way works I guess. From your last picture you still have one more...

    Flame heater removal progress check

That injection port plug is a giant PITA to tighten. It is wedged between the motor and the steering. That first pic helped as I was starting to wonder why the diesel injector plug was not bottoming out. I added the nut and it worked great.

Perfect timing. Once it gets dark I am planning to take my truck up to that garage at work and do this exact thing. By the way Quick Start makes a NICE kit.

    Filters

So how much is it costing you guys to purchase the oil and fuel filters from NAPA or otherwise? I think I have a really good deal on them, and if it is worth it I might buy some in bulk probably for Aberdeen. 2----1133 oil filters 2----3512 fuel filters(secondary) 1----3511 fuel filter(primary)...

    Remote Oil Filters...Done.

Very nice. Have you run it much yet? What is your pressure like before and after? How quick does it get pressure cold compared to before?

    HEMTT Title needed

I have to say why would you even start the restore until you had a title? It is just too much of a risk of losing all your time and money restoring it if something goes bad in how it got to you. I hope it works for you that is a sweet ride. Welcome to SS.

    Deuce playing after 4"/hr rain

Careful don't you know just a few inches of moving water can wash a car away :P [thumbzup] Sorry the talking heads have beat that into my head. I was surprised to find the axle vents were mounted just on top of the axle squares, so it might be worth a look.

    Army Motors and David Doyle

I guess I did not read that too closely. I have only ever seen MVM around, so never heard of this other one that you get thru the MVPA. Thanks for the offer CGarbee, but I have a few subscription cards already. I have just been a bit cheap recently.
