RE: Re: RE: Comset Ideas for Deuce Cab?
Jcease and I went for a ride in my deuce this afternoon, and he brought along his older model David Clark aviation intercom setup. It was apparent that they needed a little TLC as he said they had been sitting in a box for along time, however these...
gringeltaube I have to say I love what you did with those rims. I have read and reread your older posts on how you did those rims, and it still escapes me how you made it all work. I wish my lathe was big enough to handle something that size.
Does anyone know what the NAPA gasket number is for the gasket between the oil filter housing at the top and the screw down bolt/tube? I would prefer to get this thru NAPA along with everything else, but I am not picky. After my oil change I still have a bit of leaking from that gasket.
I am interested in doing sound level testing on the deuce exhaust. I am thinking of a comparison between my stock deuce, the NAPA 21470 muffler that most are using, and the Car Chemistry internal baffles that houdel suggested. It seams no one has done before and after testing. I have access...

I did not find too much either doing a search. I remember reading more stuff in the past though, so maybe the search is not picking up on some older stuff.
I picked up a Flightcom IIsx, and SR-4 jack doubler. I am very interested in adapting a CB to work for my setup too. More practical for me though would be a cell phone adapter. I still have to find headsets to use though.
If those tires turn out to be good, and someone wants to run a GB on those tires I would be interested. I would think that pickup at Aberdeen would be a good idea for many here.
If I remember correctly from my days working an auto parts store counter part-time battery's date codes are often stamped into the plastic of the battery housing.
For 8K you should not have had these troubles.
I just put the pieces together on these "glow plug saver system" that Alfa Heaven is listing on the CUCVs it sells. First read this excellent thread that review a AH purchase, and it comes up toward the end...
rdixiemiller thanks for the offer, but I would prefer to pick up a set of my own. I am set up to handle the disciplining if I need to. I did not realize that front caps fit the back axles too, but now that you mention it it is obvious. Definitely saves me a bit of work since I will only need...
Ray thanks for posting those pics of your truck. I like that size of tire on the M35. Much larger seams to just be too big except on a 5ton.
Here are some pics I took of A3 rims/tire on a A3.
Yeah I saw that too, but I am looking for something more permanent to test with. I figure it could go either way on if I should spend the money, so going this route gives me options. The caps and axles are cheap anyways.
If anyone upgrades and wants to toss their splined hub caps, or desplined caps. I would be interested. I want to see how they feel before I drop money on the selectros. This also goes for anyone that might have upgraded their rear axle, or has a broken one I can cut the shaft off of to use...
