    12v- 24v question

Two 12V batteries connected in series yeilds 24V. As we all know and have experienced in our Deuces. Now lets say you tap off one of these batteries to run a 12V load. In simple terms lets say the load on the one battery used to power the 12V load is now really reading 10.5 volts because you...

    12v- 24v question

Hold one for me, how much... maybe I should have asked that the other way around lol

    12v- 24v question

You can go off the center tap for a 12v load, watch your polarities. Low draw only for the very reason stated above. The correct way to do this is allow both batteries in series to equal out the current draw as stated. Voltage dividers / reducers are the correct way to go. Buy one or make one...

Hey Joe, Got it from here: http://visionaire-inc.com/Heaters/2009_Heater_Specials.html?gclid=CMqJ58G265YCFQHHGgodTjyxPA As I look at what I did, the 6000 is only 95.00 not including shipping, 20 bucks cheaper than the 5000, and 2500 more btu if you don't need directional heat control...

Help with a Cab Heater Recomendation

Good evening all. Thought I would give everyone a quick update. The heater is fully installed, and wired up. Took two weekends to get everything going just working on it where and when I could. The 12K BTU heater seems to work real well, ended up spending more time in the plumbing section...

What causes Headlights to go out?

Boy, it really sounds like a bad buld from the gate. Get a cheap 24 volt job from NAPA, not a deuce head light lamp, and experiment with that, even if you have to solder leads to it so you can connect it in to the electircal system. It cheaper to blow a few bucks then it is 25 bucks to test...

Filtered Waste Oils in the Deuce in the Winter???

I run 80/20 usually WMO/gas, with winter coming, I am going to 100% diesel. My truck stays outside right now. Colder months without a heated fuel system can be a bit interesting with a high ratio of WMO. Haven't experimentd in the colder months with WMO, but I can tell you, when I need the...

    2 problems with my deuce B 4 I leave

Start simple with the fan motor. Disconnect the power lead to the blower motor. Change your meter to resistance mode, "ohms" and check that you have continuity through the motor windings to a known good ground. Let me know what you get. Remember, when in resistance mode "ohms" don't connect...

    MUST READ -- Big Changes

Hey Mike, I work in IT, When we say we are going to cut the systems over tomorrow night, we usually don't just to see how many people call the help desk and complain how terrible the new sytem is that they were never switched to. It would be a great job if it wasn't for users..... aua

Help with a Cab Heater Recomendation

Hey Joe, I was going to create a simple voltage divider with a couple of high wattage power resistors so I could keep the 24VDC across both batteries going into the device and 12VDC off the center tap. We call them voltage dividers where I am from. Or, I could get off my wallet, and just...

Help with a Cab Heater Recomendation

Hey Joe, The heater comes with a vairable speed switch. I think I will run two lines from the battery to the cab, one @ the full 24 volts for the heater, the other @ 12 volts for the stuff I will eventually run in the future. It's getting there, hopefully I will have it operational by the end...

Help with a Cab Heater Recomendation

Update to the update. Got the 5000 mounted to the firewall, it looks good, fits real nice, and doesn't really look like it never belonged there. Thats the good news. After buying a 40$ multi-bit that gave me the 1 inch holes through the firewall and getting her in place, I went to hook up the...

    Jump Starting a Deuce

This is correct, also, real dead batteries will act as an additional load on the jump vehicle. FYI, if it's an option, change out the batteries at the recovery point. A quick voltage read on the batteries prior to jumping can indicate your path of action. Tommy

Help with a Cab Heater Recomendation

Yes, it is capable of defrost, but must be plummed in. Quick update, I started to mount the 5000 yesterday and just ran out of time between holloween parties for the kids, birthdays, and broken tools. As it turns out, I got the location picked out, holes drilled, hose cut, plug on the water...

RE: Re: RE: Help with a cab heater Joe, PM sent, gimp, thanks for the extra data. I will scan the mounting template and directions on Monday when I get back to the office. I got mine for $115.00 not including shipping, got a few parts from NAPA. Once I get everything mounted, I will post...
