Check your cables before pulling the starter as corrosion is a b!tch. I have solved many problems by cleaning grounds and hot connections and applying a little dielectric grease.
The worst part is having to reverse the drill.....OWWWWWWW. Sorry it happened Ditto on seeking medical attention, th only thing worse is New Years infection...
There are also 24v inverters on ebay. I bought one for the 1009 STACKABLE POWER INVERTER 2500/5000 W 24V DC TO 240V AC - eBay (item 390272589984 end time Dec-23-10 15:02:36 PST) These are stackable and it would probably be a good idea for slave batteries if you were going to pull above 2500...
I agree with Will W Try to treat others with the respect you would want from them. Try to keep your area clean and neat and follow the law or get it changed or move (or don't have an MV parked there) Remember sometimes a little good will goes a long way.
I replaced some of my fuel lines (need to replace them all as I think that may be what causes occasional hot start issues) , and the filter housing (went with a spin on). I also replaced window exterior rubber. I still need to find the seal that mates the body and camper shell though.
May not have that speeding problem in the 1008 LOL. Welcome from the top of the state! There are two of us up 85N about 15 miles from the Va boarder. Welcome to the madness....:driver:
It's possible...but chances are unless you are running biodiesel that it was just old. Biodiesel that is unwashed (washing makes it pH neutral) is very basic and destroys rubber parts. I have been running my blend for about 6 years now in my almost daily driver with no adverse effects so...
NHC 250???? In Mi I have no idea as we Never get THAT cold here in NC. My blend is about 30% diesel 65% WVO and 5% gasoline for winter. I use no gas and 20/80 for summer.
Maybe if the SHTF otherwise I would avoid it. The alcohol in E85 is not good for engines. I have even noticed gas seems to go bad faster if it has alcohol in it.
Most of my trucks have them and I have no problems they have a blocking diode so they won't discharge the battery. I get in and start my truck right up. All of mine are inside the windshield except on my jeep. I definitely think they help!
My response to Tanner wasn't to P/O anyone. It was just saying that I would rather prepare and hope I don't need it. I agree we have certain standard required on this forum and that is why I have not started the political rant. If the SHTF Tanner head north and we can hide out together
In response to Tanner...we could be talking about any vehicle not necessarily a military vehicle. Not to mention we still have freedom of speech, and a forum is a place to discuss IDEAS that may or may not come to fruition. Either way how would armoring your vehicle be dangerous to anyone...
Here is another thought REMOVE ALL SPRAY CANS from the area where you are welding. I knew a guy who had a can of wd40 5-6 feet away from where he was welding. A piece of hot slag made it into a blowtorch that ended up burning him pretty bad. Obviously remove any flamables.
I think it would be easier to armor for small arms fire with kevlar cloth and roll on bed coating then a thin steel overlay sandwich for metal componenets. Sandwiching 1/4" lexan with mesh screen and clear silicone may protect against small arms also for glass. Not that I have tried any of this.
