Oh and you will save huge amounts of money over the swap out for a gas engine (if it's just the glow plugs or control card) and I believe the diesel will give you better economy and low end torque.
Well the advice the guys are giving you is great! Look up how to test glow plugs in the search area. It is not too hard to replace them. You can put in a push button setup or just use the glow plug controller if yours is good. Diesels will run on lots of different fuels also vs gasoline only...
Remember also I am heating (to remove water) and centrifuging (to remove heavies and particulate) sometimes blending with diesel then using the fuel. It is not as simple as pulling up to your local veg oil tank and pumping into your fuel tank.

for under 500 I'd say have them bring it to ya. It's SO much easier to work on it in the driveway than on the highway or in the GL lot (some of the GL guys get kind of testy if you are wrenching on it in the lot (Lejeune)
