    Mounting Information For Standard Engine

I just got a NOS 2A016 engine. And was looking for mounting fabrication information. Found this MIL-STD-1227b document on this web site. I did a quick look at the web site and found mounting information for the 4A084 engine also. I suspect that if one were to look some more at the web site...

    MEP-018A Changes/Upgrades

Does anyone have information on hardware changes and the dates of implementation for the MEP-018A Gen set. I have a couple of the gen sets and I see that there are some differences to them. One has a different method of attaching the spin on oil filter and oil pressure send unit. And one has a...

    MEP-018A/4A084 engine muffler

Guyfang...........Did you ever have any vapor locking or other problems with the rubber fuel line connected to the fuel pump? The way the original line came into/thru the engine compartment I wondered about a potential heat problem. As you can see my temporary line I chose to get the rubber...

    MEP-018A/4A084 engine muffler

Good point on the fuel pump allowing fuel to enter the oil. I did consider using an electric pump and seeing how I will always be using a battery start and not a rope start, if I have a problem I will change to an electric pump. Thanks for the info.

    MEP-018A/4A084 engine muffler

After checking with Saturn Surplus and others I found that the muffler for the 4A084 motor in the MEP-018A gen set is not to be found anymore. So I found simple a way to fabricate one. So here goes my fabrication made of parts I found on the Net etc. 1...I removed the original muffler from the...

    Lettering

What I usually do is google a military unit that existed in the era you want to represent. There is almost always a reference to that unit on the web. Many times pictures of that units equipment also will be there. Here is a picture of a 1951 REO M34 truck that I did that was part of a early...

    Blew something up...

There many reasons to have a master disconnect on the ground cable of the batteries. I put them on all my trucks. Always leave the switch in the disconnected position when the truck is not running. Stops me from doing just what you described happened to you. We all have said to ourselves "...

    Radiator cover

There were no big issues. As always one has to think a little before starting to drill holes. Need to make sure you get the horizontal and vertical clips positioned correctly. As mentioned the metal in the grill is of a very hard material so need a very good bit. Have to have a 90 degree...

    Radiator cover

Done. Except need to remove the cover and paint the mounting hardware. Also had to move the license plate mounting hardware mounted on winch top plate a little forward. That area needs paint also.

    Radiator cover

If you go to the manuals section of this web site and go to the M37 area you will find TB 9-2855-45. On pages 14-15, para 8 the information on the mounting of the radiator cover is there. The hardware that comes with the radiator cover kit is correct. But I find that the screws are not of my...

    Radiator cover

A couple of weeks ago I found a source for a NOS radiator cover. It got here today. Looks good and it came with all the correct mounting hardware. There are no instructions however. But one can just look up the two or three TBs' out here that tell all about the mounting of the cover. You...

Change in how South Dakota regulates Historical Vehicles

At this point in time a lot of phone calls will just *iss him off and have a negative effect. As the only way to call him is at home. In this state elected state legislature officials are part time. His office will not be staffed until just before the 2019 session. He has created an email...

Change in how South Dakota regulates Historical Vehicles

Just got off the phone with Tim Goodwin my representative in the state legislature. He said he will offer a bill to modify the bill just passed. Rremoving the 8000lb limit. Turns out he is a retired Army Officer with 24 years active duty. We will work on a fix for the just passed bill next...
