    m939 Heater Core

My heater core started leaking in the front, dripping / streaming antifreeze on my exhaust manifold. Found it much easier to remove the entire heater assembly as the Philips screws on the cover were very difficult to remove. I believe vibration and its loose installation caused it to fail. At...

    Deuce IP issue

My buddy who bought my M35A1 discovered a fuel leak at his injection pump. Reading some of the threads it appears to be coming from the large nut (primer / plunger??), so we attempted to loosen it and the head broke off. We were able to remove it but need a replacement. Does anyone have a...

    M939A2 / M923A2 bucking/bouncing at 25 to 35 mph

My Super Singles, Michelin 14-20's do the same thing. Brought it to the local truck tire shop and they suggested re-groving them for $150.00 per tire, which would bring them back to new. My guess is that the more I drive him, the uneven wearing will "may ", as the BBTB (Big Boy Toy Budget)...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Coolant flush and refill Flushed the radiator and block as the tag said the coolant was last changed in 2008. Drained and refilled with water, brought the temp up to 180 degrees, thermostat opened, drained and repeated again. The existing coolant(green) and water was fairly clean. Added 9...

Help with ideas for picking up my newly purchased M923a2

IMHO ship it home, if you look at the cost and nerve racking hassle(s) of driving it back, shipping may be a good option. Check out the transportation forum and also U-Ship which I have had great luck with.

Just bought an M923 and I have several questions

Today's diesel fuel has a lot less lubrication, adding 2 cycle oil lubricates the injection pump and the truck just seems to run quieter.

    Side view mirror question

It appears to be a solid rod, tried drilling it out and my bit broke. I will have to find a piece of stock locally. Made a temporary fix. Also bought a complete set(4) of new mirrors for both sides on line, for less than $50, shipped. All the bolts and knuckles were rusted.

Just bought an M923 and I have several questions

I have the same sound in my M931, but have found that adding about 6 oz of Walmart brand 2 cycle engine oil in the fuel tank works wonders. I have used it for years in all my diesel engines. Buy a gallon of it at Wally World.

    Side view mirror question

Now that 95% of my mechanical issues are solved, I am starting bodywork and paint and painted the cab Desert Tan yesterday. This morning I wanted to remove the mirrors to paint them flat black and snap the rusted top nut that holds the vertical arm. Can't find a schematic on the mirror...
