    Do I really want a M1009? (MPG)

Rust, Rust and more Rust. It is your enemy! Watch out for rust around rear wheel wells. It takes over very quick if you don't stay on top of it. If your truck still has it's rubber floor covering. Remove it. Military was supposed to remove it. Traps water and can rust your floors out...

    CUCV Tailgate ladder

Hi All! FYI: The boarding ladder used on M37's works great on the M1008, with the tailgate up or down. Perfect if you have troop seats.

    M37 Boarding Ladder

Ladder also for CUCV Actually, the ladder also fits CUCV. It ties to the rear tie downs with hooks to keep it from pulling away from the truck. Works with the tailgate up and down. Very light weight aluminum. I'm gonna sell mine since I don't camp anymore and I am taking troop seats out...

    Hard starting CUCV's

No numbers, just tell them fuel pressure switch in CUCV filter base. Should have O ring and spring clip to hold in place. Also, all other Stanadyne 80 parts can be ordered from local Stanadyne dealer, or they can ship them to you. They have the O rings and bleeder valves etc.

    Hard starting CUCV's

If you remove filter from base you should be able to see switch and and if it is leaking from there. Again, this is for hard starting in both cold and warm weather. If leaking is not from pressure switch then you may be right. Of course the easy way to deal with it is replace military filter...

    Hard starting CUCV's

Replace fuel pressure switch in Stanadyne 80 filter base. Switch is only in military CUCV's. Part of Ice system. Either replace fuel pressure switch, its round and located under square filter. When bad it may or may not be leaking fuel. Also when bad, it will feel and sound like fuel fuel...

    posting to classified

So suddenly after being member for over 8 years, posted many times to the classified, I am no longer allowed to use classified? That is very unfair to those of us that believe in quality, not quanity of posts. You were not that picky when I joined in 2003 and was happy for any posts. If you...

    Hard starting CUCV's

I would check glow plugs and the resister on firewall. I had replaced my glow plugs first and removed wire from end of resister and moved it to the 12v connection block close by. Last I would check injection pump pressures.

    Hard starting CUCV's

If you are still using orig. Stanadyne 80 fuel filter base, the round fuel sensor switch under the filter is causing it. It is located in the filter base. Only MV version has it part of ice system. civy does not have it. $10 part and your hard starting problems go away. I tried check valve...

    Hard starting CUCV's

Just a reminder..... if your cucv is hard to start in both warm and cold temps, hard to start after driving, it is your fuel pressure switch. They crack and leak fuel (or not leak) from age etc. It round plastic with 2 wires and a spring clip holding it in place under the fuel filter in the...

    few questions on starting

Could be 2 things.... easiest is replace solenoid switch on left side of firewall under hood. Second could be glow plug controller card which can be replaced about $150 or convert to manual which is easy with push button install in dash. Hold button in 12-16 seconds depending on weather temp...

    151 spark plug adapters

Does anyone have any experience using spark plug adapters in their jeeps? The military kind that take the lawn mower spark plugs? Just wondering how well they work.

    Reality check rear universal joint

I have a clunk when I change gear and release clutch that I did not have before. Seems to be from the rear of the jeep. I put jeep up on jacks and when I turn the rear tire back and forth I hear clunk at rear of back drive shaft, and I can see drive shaft jumping around when I turn wheel...
