can you guys explain to me why it should be replaced? is mine bad, or are they typically defective? i think i remember an article on here about it, but that might have been about changing stater relay getting stuck on.
guys, i was wondering if the m1009 starter has a jackshaft that pops out to engage the starter gears. the reason I am asking is that when i turn the truck over when cold, I can hear what i can only describe as the starter spinning, but not turning over the truck. i hear it spooling up, but not...
hi guys, i have a question about a relay or solenoid of some sort that is attached to the firewall of my 1009. it sits to the left of the brake reservoir assembly. the reason i ask, is that I was having some work done on my truck....the radio and a cb....and when turning the key on, the truck...
Exciter wire reading
hi barrman, thanks for all the valuable info. I have a question that differs slightly from these other guys. I am not getting voltage to the exciter wire on alt 1 with key on. I checked and my heater blower fuse is good, I cleaned the spades, and the blower fans works...
what rear to buy
ok, i was kind of figuring that, and have read a few threads about better rear setups. since this one is trashed, what would be a good upgrade. i do more road driving than hardcore offroading, but i'd like to get something better than stock that will be a good on/off rear...
guys, I have encountered my first real mechanical problem. I hope you guys can help me diagnose the issue.
first, i have a stock m1009 that I put a 4 inch rancho lift on back in the summer and had no issues.
ok, I was driving down the road about 10 MPH in 4WD and WHAM!!! it felt like I hit a...
hey guys, i was installing my new cheapie china dash speakers in my m1009 and I noticed that with the mounting brackets and the install height of the speaker (the tweeter sticks up), the dash pad looks and feels like it is going to rub and rest right on top of the tweeter. has anyone had this...
there are two wires bundled together. one is plain white...no tracer, the other is black and is attached to a little ground bus that is mounted under the dash, on the rounded part of the wheel well.
i bet that is the wire it is. my 4x4 light was not coming on, and was not getting voltage on that white wire when operating any of the other stuff...did not test the 4wd switch. i'll have to hook that up, and test the wire when in 4wd. thanks man...much appreciated.
so with my multimeter, can i...
polk speakers
question, did you have trouble installing the dash pad over the speakers. mine have a 1 1/2 inch installed height and I am worried the dash pad will not fit over the speakers....
did your speakers have the raised center section?
thanks
i tried to find these wire in the -20 book and couldn't find them.
1. right under the dash, driver side, near the elec panel, there is a 12ish guage white wire bundled with a black wire. the black wire goes to a little ground bus under the dash driver side. my white wire is cut and i have no...

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777P35/Sound-Ordnance-P-35.html?c=3&tp=96&avf=N
, and i was a little anxious about the installed height and the dash not fitting on top of it. installed height is 1.5 inches....anyone know if that will fit. i...
hi guys, i spent the better part of an hour on here trying to find out what is the largest tire and rim size combo I can go with on my 1009 with a 4 inch rancho lift...new leafs in front and block rear...all new shocks.
stock axles, and i would rather not get into a trim job on the fenders.
i...
