OH, Warden you do know where the access panel is to do what
R Racing suggests yes? If you have a new floor mat you need to
look for the access panel then CUT your new floor mat... Basically
it is straight down from your Ratio Selector (Shift Box)
MAKE SURE THAT PUPPY IS CLEAN BEFORE YOU PULL...
Warden,
SS Member R Racing is our resident 7155 Officianiado' .
He is the 1st person I would go to if I had an issue.
I took R Racing's advice and added the pressure regulating, air filtering, oil misting
devices he dreamed up FWIW.
I am watching trying to learn hear myself.
REGARDING...
Get some BLACK paint for that grapple and some green for the tan areas
then loose the WOOD stanscions or add some beefy metal but a GREAT
start INDEED!
OH, some graphics w/ maybe company name on he grapple... :-)
Indeed they can be found but there is a FMVSS Spec on conspicuity tape I do believe.
If it is not to spec, it mind as well not be there at all. To many laws, impossible
for any one man to keep abreast of it all, well, except DOGHEAD, the man
has a walking photographic memory! :-)
I just wrote...
Yep, looks like one of the original prototypes w/ the ladder
at the back. A complete specimen sold for big bucks about
a year ago or so on GL I think it was.
A lil rusty but a solid truck it is...It would make a GREAT 5-Ton-Mudda-Trucka'!
LOCKERS? Worth there weight in GOLD. Those were Marine version trucks
that were DESIGNED for adverse landing conditions. I would love
to own a locker marine version 5Ton...
One of the first things a guy NEEDS to do whenever he buys ANY
vehicle is to remove ALL the lug nuts, and dab a little bit of
grease on JUST the bolt threads and torque them all down to SPEC.
Additionally mandatory tire tools on your truck needs to include
three cheater extensions, all that...
Transfer cases will break if ABUSED in low. Under normal use
they work fine. Any 5 Ton w/ Mud Chains will be VERY fun to play with.
I might raise the axle vents and make sure the front boots are good
and don't forget to move the tranny hole plug from its stowed
position to its INSTALLED...
I bet ya you would be surprised at what it would sell for.
Doll it up w/ some nice paint, so long as your design works
with a load, over and over you could have something there...
Let's see some U Tube videos of it in action!
Good Job!
If I were you, I would bring the truck to an Allison repair
facility before you think of a swap. The slipping question is a concern,
the hard downshift tells me you are running empty. Put a few tons
of something in the back and drive it again and see how that tranny
feels, AFTER you resolve the...
I sure do wish there was a M915 Series of trucks dedicated forum.
ReoRider's posts would fit well in said and I bet ya the Artisan's M916
thread would look good right next to it, along w/ others that are
lost in the 5Ton area.
The big boys get lost in the 5Ton threads, and are a completely...
One of the links above are to the Lond of Illus1on. I went looking
just for fun to learn about the place and I found way more than I
was looking for!
The folks driving these things need to be LICENSED and TRAINED.
Carrying passengers and not knowing how to use that Brake release? OMG!
I...
