I recently picked up an M Gator. Did a bunch of work to the engine, rebuilt water pump, head gasket, rebuilt the injectors, new fenders and cleaned a bunch of sand out of it. Plus the usual filter and fluid changes and new seats. It's running well now so it's ready for paint.. Any suggestions...

    it runs but need help

The best alternative if you do not install a new one is to remove the old one, clean it with carb cleaner, fill it with light weight oil and let it sit for a few days before you reinstall it

    Replacing fuel pump on 264A5

It is not that as difficult as it looks to replace the fuel pump. Using 1/4" drive sockets and universal joints and extensions I have been able to replace the fuel pump by removing the carburetor. You will need to modify wrenches or use a crows foot wrench to remove the fuel line(s) from the...

Setoyota, The hitch is not a big deal to move, pull the cotter pin, remove the big castle nut and pull it from its original position and reinstall with the thicker backing piece with the grease zerk on it. There are 2 types of hitch backing plates that I know of. The thinner...

    Helmet top installation

Vitamink and anyone else inerested, the top cost $650.00 not including the 8 hour round trip to pick it up in Norfolk Va. Half of the fun was the adventure to pick it up and then figuring out how to put it on the M998 by myself once I got it home. If I remember correctly the cost to uncle was...

A few months ago I ventured to Norfolk to pick up one of the Ametek fiberglass helmet tops. I built a plywood deck on the top of the 1102 trailer and pulled it with my f150. The trip went well. The Navy happened to be moving a carrier out to sea while I was on the bay bridge and tunnnel...

    m998 bumper extension

I found a take off rear bumper extension for my M998. It is not required to tow the 1102 series trailers with the rear mounted spare tire carrier but is needed to tow some of the other military trailers outfitted with surge brakes. The tire is in the way when towing the other style trailers...

    M37 in tow

The M37 tracked well belhind the M998. No problems with the turns. The tow bar is a military medium tow bar. I used it once to haul my deuce out of the pines when the steering box broke. I always carried a tow bar on the front bumper of my deuce. I have one of the military tow bars designed for...

Here is a picture of my M998 towing Willies M37 to the shop to fix a stuck valve in the engine. Went about 15 miles of local road driving used the medium tow bar and the LED light bar on the back of the cab for signals. Willie removed the bed for repairs while the truck was in the shop.
