    Adding a pony motor to a M936

So does anyone know what the required rpm is for the pump? And you wouldn't exactly need a huge, high torque motor to spin the pump, a smaller higher speed low torque motor with the properly sized pullys could do the same job. Say for ease of math the motor needs to spin at 100rpm at 1:1 ratio...

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

If tapatalk is now free I appologize for being ignorant. Don't know what size, they are usually taken with my tablet. I can get on SS as a guest but if I try to log on I get an access denied screen, unless I get on a computer that I told SS to remember me before the last update, then I'm...

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

The wife and I were brainstorming last night and she came up with an idea that I think is brilliant. Instead of trying to mount an engine somewhere to drive the pump, mount an electric motor to drive the pump and mount a diesel generator where ever it is easiest to access. Think about it, the...

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

I don't want to have to purchace an app to upload pics from my tablet, I didn't used to have a problem. And using a regular computer takes longer than I have patience for so I usually have Mahala do it and even she says it's a long drawn out process. And I don't know if it is the site or not but...

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

I would like it to be a permanent thing, I can think of a few reasons why, less wear and tear on the main engine, less fuel to run crane, probably quieter operation, can use hydraulics while moving the truck(think rear winch).

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

Yes, Facebook gets pics, because its easy to post pics on Facebook, and I don't suck, Steelsoldiers does, at least because of how much of a PITA it is to post pics.

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

Yes, pretty sure I mentioned that. Yes NHC250. Noticed coolant in oil, drained oil, had chunks stuck to drain plug, dropped pan found many more chunks, #2 and #4 liners are busted. Engine ran fine, wouldn't have known there was a problem if it wasn't for the coolant in the oil.

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

Has anyone done it? I have seen talk of people wanting to but have not come across anything where someone has. I ask because right now my wrecker is down for busted cylinder liners and I'm hoping to replace them and be good to go, but, if for some reason that does not fix it and I have to do an...

I know I usually drive the M816 but I thought I would drive our M915 down, so if you have a trailer you want to throw behind it you can do that.

I've found that a wire brush that you put on a high speed grinder, works really well, but I come out looking like the abominable snowman. And it's hard to get it even.
