    HMMWV Rock Sliders/ Rocker protection

this happened trail riding, I was close to a tree going over the roots really slow, I did not notice the drop, and the bottom fell out. I have a replacement fender, but I will be buying or building a set of rock sliders.

    HMMWV Rock Sliders/ Rocker protection

I would not mind buying a set, considering some of the damage I did.

    Top speed

71.5 is the fastest I was able to go for a short period. But I usually keep it at 60-65 I would not recommend going faster than 60-65 with the 3 speed

    Fuel miles

I was being sarcastic abut the Super Swampers TSL, most people stated that the tires where not made to go on a Humvee. I like them, and they have a good bite But back to the fuel, 100-125 miles is my limit to refill, plus a break is due after a few hours in the Humvee

    Fuel miles

I usually fill mine up every 100 miles, on the highway I keep it at 60 mph, sometimes 65 but it seems happy a 60 I always have add some stanadyne and I'm constant at about 14mpg. Mine is not really loaded, apart from the front winch and rear airlift and a spare, probably in the 5500 lbs range

    replacing horn

I also added an air horn on the splash guard, fairly easy, just mount an extra button. I did keep the original one.

    Font axle boot cracked.

I found an easy or easier way of doing, disconnect the axle at the differential or at the brake disc, remove the CV and boot, and replace the outside boot without removing the axle, it's fairly easy, and at that point lube both CV and replace both boots if needed.

    Humvee

Get a pan and remove the top fill plug of the transfer case, if you have a lot of oil coming out, you probably have a broken cooler line in the transfer case. You can bypass the transfer case tube and have the transmission go directly to the cooler, unless you are pulling a tank, you can do...

    Adding Reverse Lights

I not aware if you can buy the bushing alone. Your switch is probably a safety neutral switch, they where a bit smaller. The on on ebay has a bigger diameter, you can always buy that one and replace the safety neutral one with the one you have, the wiring tends to fray on them.

    Adding Reverse Lights

This is what you need, but they are out of stock for now. https://www.hummersurplusparts.com/product/hmmwv-backup-light-pressure-switch-12338435-5579050-5930-01-212-3373/ Check fleebay, this seems to be a fit...

    Adding Reverse Lights

I had an old post were you just buy a switch and install it on the shifter, you do not have to remove it, just go underneath and cut a small hole in the boot This is what I have for back up lights, a bit more time, but you get what you put in.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

In life you have to do what you want to do, It's your toy. I did some mods to mine, the tach in the dash, the center console, the back up lights, most people like it, then again some were against what I did. At the end, I did it my way and I'm happy with the final results, so just do it, I like it.

    Fuel Pump Replacement

You can but the gasket at any local automotive shop. I usually remove the plate and clean everything out, remove the push rod, clean and apply grease so it will hold in place when you re-install the pump You should buy 2 gasket, a bit of silicone on them will also hold them in place

How NOT to drive a HMMWV.

Even if God gave him the ability to think, doesn't mean he's capable of using his mind in the right way.

    Mounting tires to wheels

I did my wheels at home, it is fairly easy to do, first spend $60.00 on a tire inflator or beader, I bought on from Amazon Get a gallon of Ru glyde from Napa and use a sprayer Deflate the tire / remove bolts and spray Ru glide around both side of the bead I used a sledge hammer and lightly...
