    Cabin fan location...

Since my console is a bit different and homemade, I think that one fan should be OK, as long as it dissipates the floor heat, that's good enough for me. I made a small mounting bracket since the base of the fan was a bit larger than the mounting location. On a different subject, I know that the...

    Humvee Pipe Doors

Agreed Sintorion, the cost is reasonable compared to what they are selling for the Jeeps and the work that was involved. The work on the pipes is really nice, I guess that I can brag that I have a one off set

    Humvee Pipe Doors

Yes, you are right, the cost is not the big issue, it was more the time it took, 3 weeks. I ended painting them and adding the stainless steel hardware. As for the handles, I used the old ones from my soft doors and bought new ones to replace them, 2 kits @ $49.00 from fleebay for a complete set.

    Humvee Pipe Doors

Thanks for the positive comments, I really like them. Knowing what I now know, I would of done them myself, it's a fab shop that did the original work, so $750.00 for the doors and I bought the handles for $100.00 i guess , live and learn...

    Humvee Pipe Doors

I have been talking about this for a while, so finally I was able to find a shop in MI that was able to do the job. The mounting part is made of steel and the pipes are aluminium, I was able to use the same door handles from the soft doors, I ended up cutting the outside door handle, since they...

    24v to 12v converter?

Thank you Kc5MZD and Baxter462 for not being condescending and finding a quick solution that will please most people. Like I said before, I did center tap, but only for the CB when off roading and the cell phone charger that I never used. I haved this on my Humvee for over a year without any issues

I like it, looks good. I just ordered my tach, I will do the same install, look real good and great placement, much better than having to look up or bolting it to the doghouse Thanks

HMMWV Transfer case stuck in HL

When you are backing up, trow the transmission in neutral and let it come to a stop, this sometimes releases the binding of driving them on hard surfaces

    Thanks for the info

    24v to 12v converter?

Without starting a life long debate, I have to ask why it would ruin the batteries I have been running this setup and have no issues with my batteries If I would be running a winch or something like that, I could understand. But for a momentary switch, such as the one to release an rifle or 12V...

    24v to 12v converter?

If youre not going to be pulling a ton of current, then you can take power from the second battery, you will have 12 Volts, that is what I do for the CB and cell phone charger , no problems Check it out with a voltmeter, first battery is at 24V, second is 12V and the same goes for charging, it...

M998 soft doors - repair or replace?

I have para-cord on my grab handles, great stuff, just wondering if the dust or sand get's into the cord, will it be abrasive and mark the windows ? The spiral wrap is a soft plastic, like the windows, at least you can just wipe them down at the same time you clean the windows Time will tell...

M998 soft doors - repair or replace?

One thing to add, after all of that work, I was thinking of a way to protect the windows from the side bars in the door that leave the angled marks I was at the local HD and got this for $3.00, it's spiral wrap that is used for electrical wiring There is enough in the package to do all for...

    Battery holddown

If you don't have J Bolts, I used a grade 8 bolt and put a bent on it, also try to use self locking nuts For the battery , you can buy a plastic tray kit that keeps them in place. This is the set up that I have

Is radio tray steel or aluminum?

I posted this a while ago, but I think for some $60.00 you can make a custom mount.
