    So this just happened...

:tigger: Congrats on getting her out. Primary lessons learned: (1) Tractors make terrible recovery vehicles. (2) Mud sucks....gooey mud sucks even worse. (3) Carry recovery gear with you. (4) Having a support group like this is invaluable. We may laugh at you but we will do everything...

    So this just happened...

:tigger: Unless you get some really big rope you are pi$$ing in the wind. You need some steel cable with hooks on both ends. Hook one hook into the hole in the rim and use the other one to choke up on your anchor. You need to have the truck in Low Range to keep the wheels from spinning too...

I want to take off the CTIS on my newly purchased 1990 M923A2

:tigger: I had the same problem on my M927A2. I took the truck to a big truck tire repair shop that also did tractor and log skidder tires. They removed the tire, broke it down, replaced the O-ring and reinstalled it for 35 bucks. It solved the problem and was the best money I ever spent...

    Air Bag rear suspension

:tigger: There were some 900 series 5 ton prototypes at Camp Shelby, MS that had air bags but all the raw frames got scrapped. One or two of the finished trucks made it out of the gates. CSMDavis may know where one of them is. You could go to a truck junk yard and get a bag setup off of a...

EMERGENCY DECISIONS - I can only say "WOW !"

:tigger: If the Air Force has a similar medal to the Army's Soldier's Medal he sure deserves it. I recommended one of my former soldiers for it after he pulled someone from a wrecked car that was smoking and rendered aid until First Responders arrived. The Soldier's Medal is an individual...

    What is this truck?

:tigger: I wish I could find David Doyle's narrative about driving an M123 a few hundred miles.....it was funny and ended with "I would have traded it for a bus ticket". My scrapper buddy has two M123's and a M125, all in rough shape. He told me they are part of his emergency cash fund if he...

    M35A3 Tires with Tubes

:tigger: Use a wire brush or have them media blasted. Unless they are rusted to crap you should be fine. As stated above slightly larger O rings might be the ticket. Take them to a tire shop that does skidder tires. Most of them have O rings.

    Queen Lola earning her keep

:tigger: Why not drop both sides and push the load off from one side with the skid steer?

    Deuce bumper illegal in CT

:tigger: I've often wondered what would happen if some buffoon ran up under the back of the M927 while engaged in distracted driving. There is a lot of real estate between the end of the bed and the rear axle. A SUV type vehicle would be at decapitation height if it hit moving at high speed...

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

:tigger: That truck is like a hemorrhoid, kind of disturbing at first but then it grows on you.

    Het M1070 unloaded fuel economy

:tigger: You need a RGN (Removable Gooseneck) trailer. I've loaded out several HETT's and you cannot get them on a regular stepdeck.

    bobbing my m813a1

:tigger: You need a set of front springs since you can't use the original suspension for a bob job. Most bobbers have a shorter wheel base than the original truck. There are many threads on bobbing trucks if you do a search or maybe someone will post a link.

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

What about a civy flatbed....that's what I did with my bobber when the idiot that bobbed it didn't do the wheelbase correctly.

Possible Support Needed for Road Trip

I've bought a lot of oddball stuff from GL but I got to ask.......what are you going to do with that?

How have your cargo covers held up at "highway" speed?

:tigger: The trick is to catch a rip early, or to quote the sage philosopher Barney Fife, NIP IT IN THE BUD!!!!! Once a tear starts the wind will quickly make quick work of enlarging it. You should own a repair kit and take it with you on trips. If the tear can't be repaired in the field then...

    :tigger: Way to go.[thumbzup][thumbzup]

    shorty bed on m931A2

:tigger: Welcome to my world....I had a M915 (well a couple) and sold them.....now I have three semi-trailers and no tractor. I have to pull the rally trailer with the M927 and a tow dolly.:shrugs:

Issue with LCI Truck at Fort Bliss

Sure looks kattywhaumpus..........can it be driven? Maybe the axle was pushed from the side with a FL.

    mk48 night mare

:tigger: I went down to Blount Island in Fla with Ron and we put several of the MK-48's back together and loaded them for shipment. One person bought just the power unit and I had to load it up a steep ramp. When it hit center of gravity and dropped onto the deck of the trailer my O-ring...

I just won a M936a2, keep your fingers crossed

Jeff is good people and will do you proud on recovering your prize. I was watching those trucks and my finger was itching to hit the bid button. Since I have an M936A2 on loan I managed to bludgeon the urge but it wasn't easy. Good luck and keep us informed on how the recovery goes and how you did.
