found this track thingy any ideas??

I visited the Aberdeen Museum several times during my military career. The fact that they closed it and scattered the collection to the four winds speaks volumes about how the powers that be spend our money. It was a fantastic museum. I just found out that "Atomic Annie" has been moved to the...

I am looking to get a M923A2 in CA and need to know how to register one.

You will need a Commercial Drivers License. Check insurance prices before you do anything else, commercial insurance is expensive. Do you have a place to park it? Lots of restrictions in some areas.

    No fuel suction

Did you make sure the fuel shut off solenoid is resetting? If it de-energizes the truck will not start. There is also a bleeder screw in the back side of the injector pump. Loosen it and let "soldier B" crank the truck. It should start if fuel is getting to the IP.

Does anyone know this Deuce? M135

A lot of those trucks left the military and went to Civil Defense or other agencies. That one may have been sold off from such an agency.

    M920 Ring and Pinion

Check the data plate....I think they are Dana's. You can then check with Dana and see if other ratios are available. If they are unique to the vehicle you are prob out of luck.

what will it cost to make this shorty bobbed deuce/ any imput?

You have to consider the price of the truck (deuces are getting more expensive), the cost of the fab work and materials (you have to have a spring kit), drive shaft has to be shortened, paint and labor. 23K may or may not be a fair price but if you can't do the work yourself then you are at the...

Oshkosh Truck Corporation MK 15 Trailer Wrecker Recovery Rear Unit to a 5Ton?

I agree with Ron (did I say that). If I were going to attempt to mate them to anything it would be a M916 or M920. They weigh 28,000 pounds.

Deuce or Bobbed Deuce as a Farm Truck?

Deuces are getting more expensive and scarcer. I would look at the 900 series 5 tons. I made the switch and never looked back. A lot of farmers in my area are using them.

M35a2 with hard shell over cargo bed

We called them "Build Ups". They were usually made at unit level or post level if they could get the plans approved and funded. They were often used to store high value items when the unit was in the field or deployed. The un-insulated metal means hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

    M925-A2 RV conversion.

Tactical military vehicles were built to haul a variety of cargo, and sometimes troops, over various types of terrain under all kinds of conditions at slow to medium speeds while being operated by young soldiers that may or may not be interested in maintaining them. They do not make good over...

Anybody ever won 2 auctions by accident??

You might check in your area for movie prop houses. You can make some good money (infrequently) by renting them out to production companies. Since the prices seem to be dropping I've considered adding one to my stable of green iron that I pimp out since they would look natural in a modern movie...

M939 series 5 ton, aftermarket air filter

If you shim the air cleaner chamber with some strips of wood you can use a HUMVEE filter and leave everything stock. There was a thread on this a while back.

Anybody ever won 2 auctions by accident??

When I was a GL newbie they had a huge lot of deuces out in Little Rock, AR. I put all of them on my watch list and when the bidding began I was in the thick of it. I had the trucks listed by choice and had fall back trucks to bid on if my primary truck went too high. Trucks kept dropping off...

    923 ground pressure on 1400's

Our road is "tar and chip" which means they grade a dirt road, pack it down, spray it with tar and put small limestone gravel on it. My neighbor brings his Freightliner tractor home and there are pockmarks where he maneuvers in and out of his driveway. I have to make a three point turn to get...

    Fan hub assembly

I had this issue a while back. See if you can do a search using my screen name and find it. I can tell you that Fleetpride and NAPA will be no help. I ended up getting mine from a private party that had some in stock.
