    Out of Fuel

The only thing that lies more consistantly than a career politician is a MV fuel guage.

MK48/14 gets converted to MK48/18A1 and likes it

    A man and his truck......it's a beautiful thing.

    M923a2 no start

I picked up a wrecker for a fellow member last year and the batteries would not crank the truck. Since I have two twelve volt chargers I set them up in the cab and slow charged all four batteries for a few days. The truck has not failed to crank on the first try ever since.

    M923 Fuel Gauge Not Working

The only thing that lies more consistantly than a career politician is a military vehicle fuel guage.

Bobber help. need advice on removing bogie rivets

I cut the heads off with a thin disc on my big angle grinder and then center drilled the rivet leaving a ledge all the way around to put the flat head of the punch on (you do not want to get a smaller punch into the hole). Then applied sufficient force with a BFH to knock out the offending...

23speed road ranger and dt466 swap

You can't gold plate a turd (well you can but then you just have an expensive turd). While I'm not a purest in any sense of the word (I've bobbed and butchered more than one truck) I think the multi-fuel engine and stock transmission are pretty bullet proof when used as intended. Due to the...

Welcome back Casey. Will you be at the GA Rally this year?

Cummins 250 motor won't rev over 2100 rpm

The 250 is governed to 2100 RPM for a reason. Back in the good old days of trucking (60's,70's) lots of drivers would clamp a set of vice grips on the return fuel line (known as a "Cincinatti Tune Up") to get more power/speed out if the engine. This was especially common on the freight line...

    GL & HUMMVe

They allowed that with the M151's and the Gamma Goats. People managed to weld a few of the Jeeps back together but most of them were hack jobs. My inside source at Redstone tells me they will have to be shredded on site under the watchful eye of DRMO and GL personnel. I would not hold out a lot...

    GL & HUMMVe

I know there is a lot full of HUMMVEE's at Redstone that are going to be sold as scrap. They will have to be shredded in order to remove them to include the tires. A dam shame since many of them are Command versions (slantback with turret) or have the aftermarket hard shells on them. I thought...

Last night GL win and another project

Is the dropside bed spoken for yet? I have and idea in mind and I need one for a 5-ton.

UH-1N Huey’s Inducted Into the Boneyard

I'll never forget flying "nape of the earth" in a Huey behind a M-60 Delta during door gunner training (yes I'm that old). Our pilots were Nam vets and lived to scare the crap out of the FNG's. I'd rather fly in a Huey than fu.........errrrrrr........do just about anything.

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

They are selling for less than scrap price....I can't believe it. These trucks cost over 250K. Somebody save me from myself!!!!!!!!

Can I use this (my) semi trailer to recover those 5 tonners?

It's a low strung rascal but as long as you don't center it out on a rough surface you should be fine. How many were you planning on trying to load onto it?

    Deuce driving tips

For backing up and during slow manuvering use Low Range. It will keep the truck from bucking and jumping around and it's almost impossible to kill the engine in any gear when in the low side. Learn how to split shift and you will find it a lot easier to get to crusing speed when loaded heavy...

    Adding hydraulics to a 923

You will pay through the bunghole for the PTO but otherwise it is a pretty easy install if you have all the parts. Csmdavis in MS my have some winch parts.

    M923 Bobber project

I like the stacks and the flatbed.......I had them on my bob deuce.

    Looking at a M923A2

What he said. Unless you go preview, or get someone to do so for you, ya pays your money and ya takes your chances. That being said the BMY Harsco trucks are pretty new and have less chances of having issues.

    Looking for my First M35A2

Be aware that a deuce is a "gateway drug" into Military Vehicles. Once you have one truck you will want something to go with it.....a trailer or maybe another deuce. Remember, deuces are herd animals. They spent their whole lives confined with others of their kind. They dont like being alone and...

M35A1 to sell or not to sell ??

Buying a plow truck in the spring is like buying swimming trucks in November.....you might need them but it ain't likely. Plus the mods sometimes get upset about selling stuff in the regular forums. One advantage you have is that there are not nearly as many deuces coming out of GL as there used...
