    M931a1 pulling civi trailer

Really? Please post pics of yours. My M927 has a "Spring Brake Override" button but not yellow and red air supply valves like you see on a M915/916/920 or commercial vehicle. The OP was talking about an M931 which (if I remember correctly) do not have the yellow and red valves. When I drove them...

    M931a1 pulling civi trailer

Since there are no air valves on the dash like in a commercial vehicle there are two ways you can do it. One, bleed the air off by fanning the brake pedal until the pressure drops enough for the trailer brakes to lock automatically or disconnect the air lines and the trailer brakes will lock...

    Somethings amiss with GL...

S.O.P Standard Operating Proceedure, a military term now widely used to describe how a civilian organization conducts business. GL is the stud duck in the US military surplus disposal business. They have an exclusive contract and they know it. Those of us who play their game have become used...

    M923A1 no start.

You need to make sure you have fuel to the Injector Pump first. Check the big filter under the drivers side firewall (outside). That filter is a PITA to service but I'd start there. If memory serves me right that is the only fuel filter on the truck unless they added an inline or screw on...

How Far Can A M923 Run on Just 4 Batteries?

If you can't find one locally Jeff Davis (CSMDavis on here) did have some in Hattisberg, MS. Jeff is a good trooper and will help you out with all kinds of 900 series parts.

    injection pump going bad?

The first thing you should do is change all the filters again (or at least check them for clogging). Excessive smoke can mean several things to include too much fuel. Since yours is not smoking excessively the air cleaner is prob OK (restricted air flow can cause poor performance). Deuces were...

    939 series cab weight?

A stripped deuce cab tub can be picked up by four guys and loaded on a trailer (been there, done that). Prob around 5-600 pounds for a 900 series.

Parting out military trucks for fun and profit?

When I was buying deuces for 1000 bucks and driving them home I parted out a few trucks. At that time the Rock Crawlers were all over the Rockwell axles and I made my money back on one steering and one pull axle. The problem was (and is now with the 900 series trucks) that the market was...

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

    Now that's funny......I don't care who you are.:naner::naner::naner:

    939 series cab weight?

Are you talking about the complete cab tub with hard top, doors and windshield? I would WAG that at around a ton to ton and a half. Just the cab tub would be a lot less than that.

    No Primary Fuel Filter

My M927 is a Harsco truck with the 8.3 Cummins in it. It has no big filter either just the spin on and a small in-line filter between it and the injector pump. Be glad the big filter is gone......filters to fit it cost a war pension.

    Dual fuel tanks

Do they have pick up pumps in them? No, the Injector pump pulls the fuel. Can I get away with just a switching valve and switch for sender? If you are doing an addition I'd use the second tank as storage and pump the fuel to the primary tank when you need it. Some of the M818 tractors had...

    M927 turning radius

Because I'm a real glutton for punishment I towed one of my van trailers to last years GA Rally using a tow dolly. Total length was 72 feet. This pretty much explains manuvering the M927/M928.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDxVJ471hyg

    Is this a M36?

My M36 was one of those GL "Oppsies" you hear about. I bought the truck out of Redstone and did not preview it. The posted pictures for the auction showed an M35. When I went to pick it up the GL guy said "It's what you bought, take it or leave it". I took it.

Civilian tag along + state inspections

I have farm tags on the M927 (bout 40 bucks a year) and farm insurance through Progressive. No annual inspections for non-commercial vehicles.

    Is this a M36?

This information taken from David Doyle's book, Standard Catalog of U.S. Military Vehicles - 2nd Edition: The M36 was an extended bed (and frame) version of the M35 cargo truck. They did not have troop seats but the side racks resembled the troop seat models. One version had special tie downs...

Trailers for my 5 ton M932A2

Any trailer with a lunett and 24 volt wiring. If you use a converter dolly you can pull semi-trailers but they are difficult to back up.

Cummins 250 motor won't rev over 2100 rpm

Trucking has always been a rough way to make a living. It is, in fact, one of the most dangerous jobs in this country. A lot of things have improved like the air ride suspensions, air ride seats, more creature comforts in the trucks, better truckstops. It is still a mind numbing and boring job...

    Steering column change

There was a SS member in FL a few years ago (Devilman?????) that had a deuce with that type setup. He was a hellofa fabber and did all the work himself. I haven't seen him on here in a while.
