    Battled Damaged A10

When I was at Fort Benning my unit had to remove and replace target vehicles on Kilo Impact Area. This range is where the Specter Gunships and the A-10's come to work out. When ever the A-10's were scheduled to use the range we would take some MRE's and a cooler to the observation area and make...

    good thread deleted

I don't think I ever advocated barbequing anyone.....I just said I have a book that shows how to field dress a human. It's in my reference library.....you know.....just in case.

    rotator beacon

That looks like a MILES beacon......used on vehicles to denote a "kill" when hit by a lazer from another vehicle or crew served weapon. It is supposed to have an amber (I think) cover on it. The Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System or MILES is used by the US military and other armed...

    2nd Grade SS member??

Even static is has a cool factor of 10. Sure would look good at the GA Rally......with Elmo D. Possum sitting in the cockpit.

    1100/20 xl tires

I have a set singled out on my secondary deuce. I don't drive it much but it handles pretty well. If the pressure in the front tires is too low it will wander around while rolling down the road.

    buying my first deuce

The advantage of buying a deuce from a dealer or private party is that you can inspect, drive and evaluate it before you open your wallet. You also get instant gratification in that you can take your baby home and have your way with her immediatly instead of doing the EUC dik dance. If you...

    M1028 shelter ?

I concur that it is either a home made build up or maybe done on a base by a fab shop. I would post it on local buy/sell boards or maybe on Craigs List if you can put up with the spam scams. Somebody would love to give it a good home.

    Auction newbs

I learned my lesson during one auction.....I was afraid I would not get one so I auto bid my top dollar on a bunch of trucks.....I ended up buying four deuces for 1000 each at Little Rock, Ark. Fortunantly I had a big limit on my plastic and could pay for all of them......but then there was...

    Extra batterys?

If you do this use deep cycle (like for golf carts or trolling motors) batteries. Regular batteries do not like being deeply drained and recharged. Also if you are mounting them inside the vehicle (Blazer) make sure they are very well mounted.....anything not secured in a rollover becomes a...

    Firing my 155mm

When I lived in middle Tennessee we had a beer joint called the Red Dog Saloon. It was so tough that when you went in the door if you didn't have a gun they'd give you a "house gun".rofl

    Headed to Eglin

Time to mobilize the Florida Steel Soldiers Emergency Recovery and Evacuation Service. Surely there is a member close by that can get it to a safe haven until it can be picked up.

    Headed to Eglin

You may be able the clean the clutch with some brake cleaner unless you burned it up running it while it was slipping.

    Auction newbs

No....that is not what I'm saying. I was pointing out that people tend to get wrapped up in an auction while bidding blind on something they have never seen. I was watching the bid history and I knew who was bidding against me on certain trucks. If this Bozo had hung in on some trucks he...

    Shiping Container

Let me add this to the above....an uninsulated shipping container will be an oven in the summer and a freezer in the winter. Condensation will form on the inside and rain on everything you have in there. Been there...done that.

    Where to buy canvas?

I had a springer seat recovered using an Army shelter half (GP Tiny). There are several members that are blessed with an abundance of these.

    Auction newbs

Last year I bought a M916 from Redstone.....I had previewed all the trucks in the lot and know which ones were keepers and which were stinkers. I put a min bid on every truck so I could watch the bid history of every vehicle. The day of the auction I waited till 15 min before the aution...

    M747 Manual Needed

I would think long and hard about cutting off one kingpin and welding on or otherwise attaching another one on....especially a trailer like the M747. The safe way to do this is to put the correct sized 5th wheel on your tractor.

    m1a1 ownership?

My last unit had a M48 on static display....in order to draw it from the depot where it had been rusting (and awaiting an appointment at the target range) it had to be rendered inoperable. Batteries removed, fluids drained and the engine "demilled" to where it could not be repaired. My guess...

    Firing my 155mm

Let me get this straight......you can't own a pistol in the UK but you can own a howitzer?:cookoo:
