Did you check to see if there is a "Jam nut" under the knob holding it in place? You might apply some heat with a propane torch....(very carefully) to expand the metal bushing that is inside the plastic knob. Get it warm and spray some Liquid Wrench or other lub onto it...the heat will suck it...

Here are some pics of mine being used as intended. Remember..they have the same engine and driveline as the deuce (mine does not have a turbo). With a big load on you are not going anywhere fast...that's just a deuce.

You would be wrong Sir. The M275 is lighter than a deuce and should not be used for flat towing anything heavier than it is...that is why it has a 5th wheel.
