I have used OKC Auctions and I found their rates to be reasonable for the service they provide.
James is a fellow SS member and will help you out anyway he can.
You get what you pay for.
I think they used 1/4 or thicker plate steel on the Viet Nam guntrucks.
Ceramic armor would be lighter but cost a lot more.
As stated above it depends on who your OPFOR is and how well armed they are.
Well.......I don't think I have ever seen the wheel re-invented to that degree but if it works for you use it.
The original design was intended to remove slow people from the gene pool.rofl
This piece of equipment belongs in the military vehicle Hall of Shame.
Right there beside the Gamma Goat.
Designed by an idiot and bought by morons.
Proof positive that before anyone can be an designer or engineer they should have to be a mechanic for a minimum of five years.
Welcome to the madness:tin hat:
I just got back from Redstone with a new deuce (I already sold it).
There is sooooooo much stuff for sale up there.
If you are into four wheeling you need to attend my mini-rally Labor Day.
It is being held at mountainsideoffroadpark.com in conjunction...
Contact OKC Auction Services ( see their banner add here).
James is a SS member and a good guy.
He will pick it up from GL and hold it until you can arrange shipping.
His fee is reasonable.
For shipping I reccomend ALREDNECK.....reasonable rates and is one of us too.
Well...my long slide into the pit of MV madness started with a deuce....just a plain ordinary M35.....then came the other four (to sell, yea that's why I bought them) then the M816 wrecker, the M275 tractor.....the tanker, the trailers.
But hey, I can quit anytime I want to.....any time I want...
Proof positive that there are too many idiots in government with not enough real work to do.
You folks up there need to find the root moron in this exercise in stupidity, haul him/her into the court of public opinion and gut them like a fish.
Find out exactly what their true agenda is...
When we swapped out the engine in my 816 we pulled the front winch winder, the radiator and a bunch of brackets and stuff. We left the fenders, winch and bumper.
We pulled engine and tranny together. Removal was with another wrecker..re-install was with a big forklift.
It came out and went back...
I talked to Bob (the owner) again today...they are going to have some cool events.....burn out contest, tug of war, and loaded water tanker pull.
There will also be some guys there doing some filming and they will show the films on a huge truck mounted monitor. You might get to see your MV on...
Kenny.......I have a 275 but my tank seems to be OK...I would say bring them to the rally for trade goods.....I might need a spare.....or maybe take a regular deuce and make a "Clone" 275 out of it.....the ideas......
MY input would be to replace the drive axles with 105 trailer axles.
Due to the number of 105's being chopped up to make bob deuces you should be able to find them cheap.
They should fit the deuce walking beam suspension easily and they have the same brake lines as drive axles......this would...
