    My MEP-803A

Thanks for that. It is showing in stock at all the Advance and Carquest parts houses here.

    My MEP-803A

Should I go ahead and remove the bonding strap or leave it in place until I have the unit sorted out and load tested? Whenever I get to connecting I will use a 4 wire setup. But I don't think that will be necessary for load testing. Haven't finalized my plans for building a load bank yet. I...

    Just picked up a 2009 MEP-803A

Nice looking unit. I will have to look under my skid for a ground rod. My documents had an inventory list saying my unit had a 3 piece rod and 6 AWG cable but I didn't find it.

    My MEP-803A

Ordered radiator hoses and some dryer elements off ebay. Going to pull the thermostat and try to match it and a radiator cap at the auto parts store. I think I can see a 7 on the radiator cap so I assume it's a 7lb cap. Will stick my ground rod in the dirt and exercise the AM-VM switch before I...

What coolant & for MEP-802a? Precharged nitrite type or just green heavy duty type?

This probably explains why the belt was loose on my unit when I got it.

I haven't even found the block drain. Not on the engine or in the engine manual. Anybody got a pic or description that shows where it's located?

    My MEP-803A

I set the dial behind the panel to 120/240 single phase. Connected my meter to L1 and L3. Started the engine and still had no reading on the gauges and none on the meter. I toggled the interrupt switch closed for a second and started reading 236 volts on my meter. Still no reading on the gauges...

    My MEP-803A

I don't think I ran the starter for 30 seconds at any attempt. I did hold it on start on the 3rd try for a few seconds but it still died when I released it. Then on the 4th attempt it started and remained running. The switch on the panel is where it was when I got it. The switch behind the...

What coolant & for MEP-802a? Precharged nitrite type or just green heavy duty type?

I will kick this back to the top. The manual says to use MIL-A-46153 and water. I can't find any off the shelf antifreeze that has the military spec listed. The engine design in my 803 doesn't look like a wet sleeve design but I would think to be on the safe side a heavy duty diesel rated...

    My MEP-803A

Well that is bad news. I did check and mine does not have the fuse added. I hope I didn't blow my stator cranking it 4 times.

    My MEP-803A

No I saw it was leaking fuel at the lines up top on the injectors so I didn't want to run it long. That load test was done at 2616 hours and it is only reading 2617.5 now so I don't expect a big problem on the output. May just have something turned off. I hope someone here has a simple answer. I...

    My MEP-803A

Purchased a MEP-803A from GL on 11/28/2016 for $1185 after fees. Picked up in Atlanta Ga on 12/08/2016. First thing I noticed was a big gouge I overlooked in the photos. It didn't hit anything that would hurt the unit's functions and may have been why the bidding didn't go crazy. Loaded unit...

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

Home safe. I think I'll stick a fork in this thread and start new with the check over and get ready of the machine.

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

Tomorrow's my day. Confirmed with the lot manager I can pick up any time between 9-4 and he can load it end wise in my PU.

I bought it off ebay years ago thinking I might make a buck with it. Have done almost everything on it for personal use or favors. Had fun learning and using it though. lonesouth lives near me and offered to help me so I'll be glad to help him out on a repaint.

It works from computer software. For a project like this I would select a stencil font and type it in then select all and set what size I want. Just did these decals for a special event I took my Mustang to last week.

I have a 24" vinyl cutter. Let me know when you get ready and I will cut you letters or stencils. The most realistic way is to cut stencils and paint it. I just use shelf paper for that. Tell me what you want and what size to make it.
