MEP-803A Auxiliary Fuel Tank Size and Fuel

I'm not too worried about storage right now. Fixing to retire and have 5 acres of stumps to dig out with a NH 575E backhoe so I will be going through some fuel. A 100 to 250 gallon tank would suit me well since I now know i can get it delivered. BUT from what I've read it stores much better...

MEP-803A Auxiliary Fuel Tank Size and Fuel

That's a nice looking rig! I am also considering putting mine on a trailer or maybe even just putting axles on the frame to move it around on the property if needed. For now I imagine I will just clean a space under my shed I keep the little tractor and lawn equipment under since it's right by...

MEP-803A Auxiliary Fuel Tank Size and Fuel

Yeah I called Eli and got a price of $2.17 delivered for 100 gallons for off road. That's not too bad. I didn't think to ask if there was any restrictions on what type tank I have to have or if they had any used for sale. I'm kind of getting my cart in front of my horse since I haven't even...

MEP-803A Auxiliary Fuel Tank Size and Fuel

That would be great. I might look into whether anyone delivers diesel and seek one of those. I actually have one abandoned across the fence from my property that might be within reach of my backhoe boom but chances are better than not it's too cruddy inside to use.

MEP-803A Auxiliary Fuel Tank Size and Fuel

What size auxiliary tank should I plan on getting for a MEP-803A? Never sure what length outage you may have but say we had a week long outage like the recent hurricane. I don't know how it affected diesel but the gas stations were running out before the hurricane actually struck then they ran...

    Load Bank?

I considered that but I would prefer to have things enclosed, insulated, and safe.

    Load Bank?

I also considered this approach but shortening the elements would decrease the resistance and increase the current draw. Adding a 4th element in series may be a good alternative. I am also going to keep an eye out for an electric furnace as a base since that would already have the fan and duct...

    Load Bank?

I will help revive this old thread as I conjure up a way to build a load bank. My needs will be to load test and run a MEP-803A Reason I quote quickfarms here is in my brain storming I came across some clothes dryer elements that are reasonably priced but most if not all seem to be in the 5400W...

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

Interesting to know. Maybe a stall mat from tractor supply might help. I plan to pick mine up next Thursday.

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

Finally got a call from someone at the Warner Robbins site. He tried to arrange to go to Atlanta to get me loaded on Friday but couldn't. He did give me the direct number for the guy that will load me next week so I can call him to set up a time.

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

The whole outfit seems a little screwed up to me. I called after lunch and the first person I talked to told me I had to make an online appointment for Warner Robbins. I tried to explain the unit said it was in Atlanta and she insisted that was what I had to do. So I made the appointment and...

There's the answer I was looking for.

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

I've had it full of sand but didn't want to drive over 45 with it. If they can get it in the back of the truck and can't push it to the cab I can pull it forward with a ratchet strap I think. I just don't want to be stuck driving 50 MPH all the way home when I know I can run 70 with my trailer...

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

Has any of you hauled one in the back of an extended cab F150? The payload listed for my truck is right at 2000 lbs but I'm a little concerned about having 1100 lbs in the back at highway speeds. I might be better off taking my car trailer but it is open center and the unit will need to sit...

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

Yeah I read it after the fact. They should post IN the listing that 4:00 pm is an approximate closing so it isn't a surprise. I still got the machine for a little under my maximum bid but I think the extended closing time is not good business. Guess I'm too used to ebay auctions.

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

This is a 01/2007 showing 2617 hours on the meter. It has a big decal reading RESET on the end so I assume it had some maintenance. It could have more hours and had the hour meter replaced during the reset but who knows. Hoping I got lucky.

    My MEP-803a experience

Just read all the way through your thread again to get ideas for my new purchase. Hadn't thought about the solar charger but that is a must have. I have one on my lawn mower and gate opener already and they work great. I wonder if I could hook two of the cheap HF chargers in series? A 10W is...

Just won the bid on a MEP803A

Sorry if I beat any of you out on this one. I will use this as my learning and experience thread when I pick it up and get started on it. Not sure if it's kosher to post this info but as usual I didn't read all the conditions and terms before bidding at GL. I knew about the buyers premium and...

    My MEP-803a experience

Why did you reduce the conduit size? I applaud your efforts. I hope not to have near as much fun if I score a unit but I'm still shopping.

    Reset Decal

I am referring to generators. The decal I am talking about is a large white decal with black letters that read "RESET". It doesn't seem to have any relation or reference to the hour meter as I have seen this decal on the outside of the panel cover on a lot of units with different hour readings.
